Checking in time - this was a serious spend day, unfortunately. DH & I had a wee turn to Ikea and bought a new bed, but in my defence this was becoming a necessity as he is away in for a shiny new hip in 3 weeks and our seriously old bed is doing his back no good.

But from now on - monthly budget will be £100. This can't include petrol & I can't budget for that at the moment as I have no idea what courtesy car I'm getting from the garage when they take my car for repairs tomorrow (car accident 2 weeks ago and another spendy day when I pick my car up & have to pay excess:()

Back to work tomorrow for me - but will take lunch & tea bags with me as I'm going to be good.

LAGL - 20 SFD days does seem quite pleasant and (hopefully) achievable.
NSK - 7 days?! 7 DAYS?! Oh my. Hope you have fun

    March figures:
    #030: Food £34.32/£35 Spends £92.23/£40 SFD 24/25 Money made £216.33/£100

I went over on my misc spends quite badly, but £40 was always going to be an optimistic and challenging target. I'd rather be tougher with myself on budgets as i might be tempted to spend "up" to them. 1 day short on spend free days too but not too bad for a first attempt.

    April figures:
    #007 Food 0/£40 Spends 0/£30 Money Made 0/£50 SFD 1/20

I know it isnt a requirement this month but i'm aiming to make £50 from ebay and the like. Spends are low as i'm planning on a "money detox" until my birthday in 19 days. Basically no cash or debit card transactions until then. Day 1 completed.

Hi everyone, welcome to all newbies:)

A SFD for me as I havent withdrawn any money for my budgets yet, thats a good wayfor me not to spend anything:D

Worked today and am now home and very tired, met DD3 afterwork and had a good chat she only has 3 weeks to go before I get DGC number 3:) so busy knitting at last, we dont know what it is, so it makes it difficult, everything is geared to knowing, but hey white will have to be OK

Dinner tonight was stir fry that I had in already, and tomorrow will be a jacket pot with something on it, possible tuna and sweetcorn, depends whats lurking in the cupboard.

    See you all tomorrow

    Hi All

so a SFD today, I was working so that helped,

    My Budgets for the month

    Petrol £220
    Food £200
    Misc £50

I have had a really good look through the freezer, fridge and cupboards, and I'm sure that I can reign in the food budget a little more,
Petrol budget has been increased as this is a 5 week month for me,

I am taking the food and petrol budgets out in cash every week, just want to see if this could work better for me then using the card,

I know I've got 100 items I need to get rid of, so I will be getting on to this later tonight.

Wow, lots of new contenders this month.Welcome everyone and good luck, this is life-changing. I hope we can all behave while the Kat's away on her hols. Have a great time NSK, you deserve it after all that overtime.
Had a spend day today out of my first ever 'miscellaneous' budget. Not sure how that will go but I have taken the whole budget out and have the remainder in a jar as it's fatal for me to have cash in my purse. Will aim to come in under budget.
    Right - budgets
    Groceries £200 Petrol £90 Misc £100
Am going to try for the 10 freebies as I never could make anything on Ebay etc. Spring clean - today's haul - 2 large bag shoes & clothes/2 small bags/box of glasses all recycling or for charity. Onwards and upwards!

    Evening all,

How is everyone and a big welcome to the new Peeps, hope you all enjoy April.
I had a SFD today, did the early shift and then came home and went to bed for a few hours. Am trying to stop drinking tea and coffee, its been 48hrs so far. Although suffering with the withdrawal headache but I think the half box of Tho**tons chocs may have kept it at bay this evening:EasterBun. So much for the diet!!!
My budgets for April are F00d £100 (include £30+ for cat food), Petrol £150, Presents £20, going out £200 (away for a weekend) and other £30.
On the subject of freebies, I go on magicfreebies daily and had some nice bits - expensive face cream, pack of biscuits, pedometer and lots of other bits and bobs. So its always worth a go!!!
NSK- Have a fabulous holiday X

Hi, thank you for the lovely welcome
    First sfd for me today.
Budgets for the month will be
Petrol £150 (have trip to Cornwall at end of month so most will go on that)
Kennel for dog £70 for 5 days! His holiday is costing more than our holiday
Dd's train fare for term £135
Food £0 fingers crossed won't need to buy anything as cupboards full and taking own food with us for holiday.
Holiday spending money £50 have raided my clubcard points for days out vouchers to keep costs down
Birthday night out £50 or less
Think I have picked my most expensive month to join the challenge but I'm hoping that by putting it all down in black and white I will stick to budgets and come in under by the end of the month.
  • Quick pop on to announce sfd 1. Will update properly tomorrow. L2B.x
    LBM 2008 [STRIKE]£45,091.23[/STRIKE] eek: now £7889:T Debt free date 18/07/2018 :)
