Yeahhh its turned midnight so I can post now:)
Nice to see new members joining the army and as I spent quite a while on the naughty step last month I thought I would get in with todays post early as I am working today (Monday) and might not have time.
Signature has been updated with totals, which are £150 for petrol, £160 for groceries and £120 for misc spending. Plus the 20 SFD's.
As mentioned last month, tomorrow I will be giving up my bank card to my mum and will just have my weekly spends given to me. Haha I feel like a child but if this helps then so be it.
Right I'm off to bed now. A big thank you to Kat for Aprils thread, got a bit worried it wasn't going to happen but you can see how we all need you:)
Hope everyone had a nice easter and long weekend.TOTAL DEBT - £10866.22/£450.06 PAID O/S £10416.16CC - £174.69 - The rest is a family loan and other debts which are 0%August Grocery Challenge - £0.00/£250.00

I'm Late I'm Late I'm Late...
Welcome one and all to the 4th of the Year
Joining together, working hard and beating the fear..
Of relying on cash not credit card use
To get reliant on selves and shake ourselves loose..
So keep yourselves tight on the spreadsheet of life..
List it and plot it and scheme it just right
So you know the way through is too battler real hard
Remember those pennies and be on guard..
Temptations with follow and make it seem wrong
That life's put on hold for what seems to long...
But I promise you this, I won't mislead..
Because together we'll win, together succeed!

It can be daunting first time round to start posting on a thread like this that has been going for a while and seems like everyone knows each other. Really proud to have you on board and a MASSIVE ..."Coooeee" to the hardened contenders ready for another round to battle against debts, those in for only a second month to save pennies, be entirely frugal if not a little stingy and bargain hunt until the cows come home... WELCOME BACK!!!
We Will Succeed!!

Hurrah, happy April everyone
So Gretchen, there's a vacancy on the naughty step? Oh dear. We're not even an hour into April and already I have spends to report  I started my April budget on Saturday so here's what I have spent and what my budgets are:
Food: I'm increasing this from £50 to £60 this month as I want to eat well and, living in the world that we do, that seems to cost more!
Petrol: I've kept the budget at £50, although if I go over this it's generally a good thing because it means I'm using my car to work more so I'll be earning more.
Misc: The 'everything else' budget is staying at £100. It's the budget I struggle most with as, although it sounds a lot, London is so expensive that it disappears fairly rapidly. So far, I paid for a night out, a birthday card and a post workout smoothie. I need to remind myself there are still 30 more days of the challenge!!
Make money: I don't think I saw this in the rules, but I aim to make an extra £100 over and above my wages.
Write letters: I love the sound of this and am happy to partake, although 10 x 50p stamps is a chunk of my already stretched misc budget. I recently emailed a well known coffee chain as they heated my veggie toasted sandwich on the same machine as they heated the meat ones - the sent me a £5 voucher
SFDs: 20 seems doable, I just need to get organised.
My spends so far:
SFD: 0/20
Food: £16.69/£60
Petrol: £20/£50
Misc: £25.79/£100
Yikes, it's going to be a tough one!!0 -
Haha Souxsie you're welcome to my place on the naughty step. I plan to stay well and truly off it this month!!
Kat - Can't sleep and I have to be up at seven. I like the young lady, I wish lol. At least I might be too tired to spend any money tomorrow haha.TOTAL DEBT - £10866.22/£450.06 PAID O/S £10416.16CC - £174.69 - The rest is a family loan and other debts which are 0%August Grocery Challenge - £0.00/£250.00

A few hours late but please can I join in? xxx0

As a lot of others I've also been lurking for a while. Please can i join? i get the Mse best tips email and even tried to do a spreadsheet for all our spending last month. Hmm. Went over on food and petrol as usual, you may think reset budgets but they're already loads! I'm going part time at work soon so want to readjust budgets so we live within our means. Nsk thanks for the threads, they've made very interesting reading and inspire me to join forum and try for real this month. Meant we challenged a lot of daily spends last month. One question. What's the diff between a sfd and a nsd? Are they only true ones if your purse doesn't see daylight? If you want to feel rich, just count the things you have that money cannot buy.0
