  • Morning all.
Sorry not been on for a while, computers and modem lines are a little tempremental in this house at the moment. Actually computer is about £%$ked but Im trying to avoid the cost of buying a new one....
Well the last couple of days have been spends but I have had 15 SFDs in total this month. Although looking back at my spends diary probably 6/7 spending days werent actually necessary. I MUST ORGANISE MY LIFE BETTER!!!!
However on the whole, April hasnt been too bad, apart from "other" budget I think Ive done ok. This month I had to buy a new moby, but thats come out of birthday money and had to get car insurance. This ended up being £250.61 but awaiting £25 cash back from that :T and I paid one lump sum for the year. However if I had carried on paying monthly with previous insurer it would of worked out at £424. Massive Savings!!!!!:j All thanks to NSK and everyone on here (Love ya, Love ya, Love ya!!!!), cos otherwise I wouldnt of had the money to pay for it now and Ive nearly paid my CCs and I dont have an overdraft.
On the CC front, I now have the money to pay off my San CC card but going to leave it in bank so it can accrue me some interest before I pay it off in June when the 0% interest runs out.
One happy rosie bunny signing off for now xxx

Yay! to the house move Kat. Puddy will soon settle.

Will be spendy day as I want to buy some lunchtime bits from the market, I cannot live off cheese alone. Well, I could but it won't do my waistline any good, hee hee!

My old bagpuss of a kitty lost the fang that's been sticking out at an almost right angle for the past week. Was beginning to think I'd have to take him to the vets as there was no way we were going to try and pull it out. Good job there's no such thing as a kitty tooth fairy is all I can say.
  • OK sfd here - working, done the monthly shuffle oh and sold our house......:eek::eek:

The chap who owns the house to our left and rents it out is a builder and was doing some work on the house to our right. We were chatting and some how I said something along the lines of I think at some point we will move - could do with an extra bedroom etc. Anyway he said if and when we were ready to give him first refusal :eek::eek: Ok I know this is chatting but my word if it could be done that would be fantastic!!!

I think for one day that is quite enough excitement - have sent DH an email - would love to see his face when he reads it!!

Hi everyone, I'm finishing the month with 14 SFDs, didn't hit my target but it really focused my spending. Will refuel tomorrow so only £0.99 over for the month but blew our food budget so need to be realistic about it for May. App Food order arrived yesterday so got £102 worth of food for £25.96 inc delivery (had £10 credit)

Failed miserably on selling and decluttering this month but will aim to get some things listed this weekend. Using any selling proceeds to save for our holiday spending money, have got £365 squirrelled away and hols are at the end of Sept so feeling confident we'll have enough.

Glad you're in your new home Kat and thanks for setting us another challenge, it's very much appreciated! See you all in May :-)

LAGL - is he wanting to buy the house or do the building work. What's that harm in getting a quote - something to aim for? Something that isn't pie in the sky "amounts" but something you can put on a board and say "this is what I am scrimping for"...?
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".
  • Last day of the month is a SFD! Although that only brings me to 19 total - one shy of target, but not bad going.

I don't think I made the target of 100 decluttered items, but I definitely ditched the 31, through ebay and charity shop, and I also shredded a load of old bank statements, so I'm pretty sure I made a good stab.

Could do better witht he eBaying - I think that will be the plan for Bank Holiday Monday

Besides that the usual story: some budgets over (petrol) some under (food). I want to be running a tighter ship next month, so will be a bit firmer with the budgets and all. See you all in May!

  • KAT - yep he would want to potentially buy our house when we are ready to sell - he also lives local and has two boys and wants places for them to take on when they are old enough hence why he bought the cottage next door. We are both talking in 3-5 years time - and you are right I need to save - as you know the plan is to do one final flit. Houses I like are a fair chunk up from the value of ours - with a mortgage I can stretch about 50% of the gap so need to save and up my work hours when DS starts school to make up the rest.

Its a goal - its flippin hard to put the numbers on it but I think ours is worth about 200 the ones I like are 400-450 the achievable mortgage at this moment gets us with our equity up to about 330 leaving a 100k "GAP" and thats before property prices changing and legal fees and interest rates - its like nailing jelly to the wall!! Anyway an aim - even if chap doesnt end up buying this place its still the grandish plan..... - just need to keep myself off property websites in the mean time, mooching is torture!!

Need to work but head now planted in day dream land... Oh dear!!

  • Glad your move went well Kat.
I'm chalking today up to a SFD as working from home, which means that I end the month on 15. Considering this was my first challenge - not bad, but it does mean that I had spend days on half of the month. Eek! May is going to be tricky as lots of events already planned, but I'm determined to make a dent in that debt total!
See you all on the other board May lovelies!
