Hey All,
Yesterday was a SD, today = SFD number 13. I should make 15 if I can last until Wednesday!!!
I will be joining May's challenge to try and keep day to day spends under control. I have put aside £200 to cover costs of weddings, a hen night (!), gifts, fuel up and down the country and a cheap outfit. That will be managed separately though.
Well done to everyone who sailed through April and met their targets. Good luck with the move Kat. We're all routing for you!!! Tell that moggy of yours to pack a suitcase!!!

Hi all,
I'm really sorry for not posting on here for ages. I have no excuse except the usual - busy at home, children poorly (nothing serious, just colds), generally overspending and not wanting to admit it.....
I am now over £200 over spent for the month. The most frustrating thing is that I have nothing to show for it and I know we haven't particularly been overspending. It just seems to happen. I can't wait for the end of the month, so we can start fresh in May!!!
I haven't caught up on all your posts yet, so I hope everyone is ok and doing well.

Gosh you've been busy overpaying, gardening and preparing to move. The last two days were NSDs as we were at FIL and didn't need to buy anything. Gonna pop over to May and have a look. And will have a proper catch up tomorrow

OH MY GOODNESS I AM MOVING TOMORROW!!!
Evenin all. I am sat on my mattress, on the floor, very excited! Brother has reached home home safely and I cracked on through the day and everything I own is now in a cardboard box! And I am a little excited!
I picked up the new keys today and am currently eating the weirdest combination of food just to lighten the fridge a little. Brother didn't eat as much as I would have liked and I have to now take it all with me.
Going to have a look at my budget tomorrow in my new room and make sure I know what is happening before I hit MAY WITH A BIG STICK!
April has nearly physically wiped me out. The bad "stress" skin is back but I am not broke. I managed to squirrel away £75 to go towards my bike insurance, cover everything that has come my way this month (holiday, party, brother and the move) so am REALLY looking forward to a boring, home-orientate May with no plans, no outings, no parties, nothing!!
I like it a bit boring!!
Inline with what Abundant has said on the new May thread ( sorry for cross over ) you have to keep things real, ensure you don't go mad and stay a little happy. SO I am joining the local leisure centre...here's my reason..- My clothing is becoming too tight to look chic. Too tight is cheap not chic. Loosing weight is better than buying new clothes.
- I don't feel attractive being 1.5 stone heavier than I should be despite what my friends say about it not being visible. It is to me.
- I am SO unfit it's unreal. Having somewhere to go (with a friend) excites me..cycling outdoors is fun to me, not real exercise. So an indoor gym is best. And I am aiming to get back into some heavy weigh lifting!
- It's 20 minutes away so I will walk there and back 3-4 times a week. Warm up sorted!
- It's only £34.50 a month with a work related discount and no contract.. which includes a very large swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Classes and a large gym and use of a badminton court (which I will never use:rotfl:).
- It's a 3 minute dander to the cinema from the gym. My outings for the forseeable future are sorted.
Have I justified myself okay? But on a serious note.. I do not feel attractive being this heavy. And I am worried about how much sugar I have taken in recently and how unfit I get walking up a flight of stairs. Time to do something now..... since I am 30....:rotfl:
Anyway.. on top of all that I need my beauty sleep. The month has caught up on me and my skin is showing off...:(
I am so proud of you all that have pushed through - confessed and stuck with it. TO those who haven't checked in as you are worried - please don't be. We all have slip ups and spend money where we shouldn't. But it's a learning curve to be shared, a new "no spending" habit to be learned and in the end money saving will be second nature..
We will push forward though - remember this month is not over yet. We have a few days to go... lets see it through then start afresh....
Onwards and Upwards!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Well, I managed to get my act together enough to list 10 things on ebay tonight. I also picked up a few mystery shopping jobs to local grocery stores so I got some free food
So, instead of my yummy Quorn Sausage and chickpea casserole that I was planning, dinner was a tub of Ben & Jerrys - yes, the full tub in one sitting  I also got a yellow sticker pizza for tomorrow's dinner. Oh dear, I'll be joining you on May's health kick kat!! I was going to give up caffeine and sugar in May (except the first 3 days as I have a course to go on and it will actually kill me to have withdrawal effects plus this course, so I'll start on the 4th ( May the 4th be with us :rotfl:)
Anyway, it's payday for me in a few hours and I'm hoping hoping hoping that I can clear the rest of my Santander overdraft but I fear I'll be a little shortNever mind, it's all good and if it's not cleared tomorrow it'll be cleared very soon

Good luck with your move Kat. Thanks for all the motivation & support over the past month. I might not have hit the target but I can't believe I have actually had 2 weeks of SFDs this month! That's massively down to you & the other challengers on here, so thanks to you all and also for making me so welcome.
Best of luck with your new fitness regime - mind you, moving boxes will prob prove a great workout too!:idea:LBM @1/4/13 £15,754

I also wanted to add good luck for tomorrow's move kat. You've done brilliantly this month (as we all have, you've just had a heck of a lot of extras to pay for!)

Good luck with move Kat, hope you and your puddy cat are happy and settle in well.
May has been o my mind all day and I have sorted paperwork and cleaned garden toys so quite a productive day - sunshine helps. When I went through paperwork I found debt collector letters an red bills from when I was in debt years ago - can't believe how many! Must have been in the red with everything at one point! Makes me feel better about my recent relapse and how capable I am of getting back to black! Caused me some anxiety too but just from the memories of all the threats etc - forgot how nastynthose letters could get. Anyway that's not me anymore and I will get over this blip and move on to df with emergency fundHappiness is wanting what you have...0 -
Morning all,
Sfd today apart from planned tea out with friend tonight.
Day off work waiting in for a man to come and insulate the loft and cavity walls so think I shall spend the day doing some crafty stuff.
Off to find the May challenge0 -
Morning all,
Well we are nearly there - DH has jetted off to the land of lower temperatures... he's back late tomorrow night.
Another SFD today - managed to rack up two over the weekend and another planned for tomorrow so all is not lost this month.
Done the budgets, done the menu plan, done the shopping list - now just got to get paid and get on with it! I really really want to pay of the last of our credit card on the 31st May - going to have to be ultra tight to manage this. DH car is making a "noise" again too which is a little worrying
Right work to do - Dear Boss has asked for my time sheet - comic genius - I still have two days to finish!!
Happy Mondays all - see you on the dark side of the force!!
