Morning all - I was aiming for a SFD today but learnt about some 1/2 syn sausages at sw last night. They are on sale at our market every friday so, since I am on holiday today, I just had to buy some for the freezer. However I did not deviate from the plan (ie did not stop for a coffee etc) and managed to pay in a cheque for £98.
I am planning to dust the lawn mower down this afternoon -wish me luck with the jungle!44 day challenge
1. Pay £650 off overdraft (£ 288/ £650)
2. Lose 12 lbs (4.5/ 12)
3. Use YNAB everyday (6/44)0 -
Another SFD for me today, which brings me up to 4 :j
Have spent most of the morning alternating between painting the ceiling in the lounge and cooking in the kitchen, dinner is in the slow cooker, crustless mini quiches are in the fridge and the custard slices are setting :T
All from storecupboard ingredients. I am now preparing myself to get the roller out to the lounge ceiling, dreading it!0 -
Good morning everyone,
I am hoping for a SFD today. A friend has invited us to the play barn again which won't cost us anything to get in but refreshments are another thing. I think I will try and make some biscuits this morning and take them with us with some juice. Gonna take my knitting again so that'll keep my fingers occupied:D
krustylouise was it easy to learn crochet from youtube? I have a few hooks and plenty of wool but never seem to get past a chain. I'd love to make a baby's bottle holder shaped like a monkey from a magazine but a bit nervous
Hi,
I only started last night and so far have made 2 headbands for DD and one with a flower on. I'm not saying they look too notch but I think considering I've only been doing it for 15hourd I'm doing ok. Really easy if you are patient I'd say. Some people find it hard crocheting but can knit no problem, whereas I have tried knitting and just cannot get it, but crocheting seems to have happened pretty easily. Good luckx

Krustylouise - so envious of your crochet abilities. I tried and failed miserably after a tantrum or two, my fingers just couldn't do it. I've taken up knitting instead, slightly more successfully, only slightly though
Not going to be a SFD, SM shop planned for lunchtime to stock up on store cupboard and pet essentials.
Oven still not fixed, hoping FIL can find the problem with it or it may mean buying a new one
Some people can knit but not crochet and some can crochet but not knit, some lucky beggars can do both! Well done on the knitting I'm hopeless, I nearly end up taking my eyes put with the needles!PAD 2023 Debt total as of Dec 2022 £18,988.63*April £17,711.03

FIL can't find what is causing the oven to cut out. He's suggested getting a real electrician in (FIL is one of those dads who knows how to do everything but isn't trained in any areas), in the hope he can find the problem. I kinda think if FIL can't find the problem, it's probably an expensive problem to fix and maybe a (cheap) new cooker is on the cards.
On the plus side, IF we need a new cooker, I can actually afford one (just) without affecting my DF date - a few years ago, we'd have been struggling. In fact, we once bought a small worktop cooker thing for £20 (so small you could just fit a garlic baguette in it if you placed it at an angle!) and used that for almost a year as we couldn't afford an oven when the old one died.0 -
Isn't it amazing when you can afford things if the SHTF? I have a tiny contingency and am so grateful I do!
Do you not have any electrician friends who could have a quick gander?PAD 2023 Debt total as of Dec 2022 £18,988.63*April £17,711.03

Krustylouise - I don't have any useful friends like an electrician, plumber, joiner etc. My friends are pretty much all office/school based or techno-geeks...0

Hahaha so your friends are all useless lol love it! See I work "in the trade" so quite lucky that way. Maybe you could private message me what the issues are and I could ask my electrician friend?

Hello all. Kat I hope you are having a lovely birthday. if you get a chance to check up on your chickadees, you will see that, old and new, we are all trying our hardest to keep on track while you are away. Everyone seems so determined this month, maybe the promise of sunshine round the corner - ahem- is making everyone really keen to get these debts busted. Another SFD today, checking in now as I might not get a chance later, and will definitely not be spending anything tonight. Onwards and upwards!MFIT -T5 #420
