Absolutely rediculous..... as if the school prom doesnt cost enough!! My sons prom outfit hire was almost £100 then the cost of the party bus was on top.

Still, who am i to tell other people how to spend their money?

I'd be arranging to have my son picked up early if it was me. Theres no way my son would be excluded just because he wasnt popular enough.

    Limmos are so old/B-list.

Its all about helicopters for proper A-listers these days.

If I could afford it I would definitely be getting him a helicopter :rotfl:. The school don't organise anything for them so perhaps that is why parents started the limo thing?

The more I think about it the more I prefer the idea of doing something with him, we haven't done anything with just us for ages so perhaps it will all work out for the best :).

Ahh, I remember this when DS left primary school. He did get asked to join one group and I wasn't going to say no but...yes, height of chavvyness, tbh. He said it was pretty boring but the ride finished at Pizza Hut where two of the other mums were waiting and he liked that bit.

The school got pretty fed up with the limos though, and also with kids getting left out, but particularly with the fact that one limo could block the school entrance on it's own, let alone four or five. So a couple of years later they devised their own little end of P7 celebration within the school, with a special buffet lunch and speeches and silly awards, all very light hearted and fun and which neatly overrun the usual limo pick up time. So all the kids went to that and by the time it was finished it was getting too late for limos and Pizza Hut...which suited 90% of the parents and kids just fine, tbh.

It's a rotton situation for your son though, OP. And you say you look after two of his friends during the week? I'd be after the relevant parents for a bit of a frank talk with them tbh. Very mean of them.

I would definitely be dropping the parents of the kid I looked after in the doo-doo by knocking that on the head. When they asked why, I'd tell them.

All the limos I have seen carting kids around have no seat belts and the kids pile in, so the idea of there not being room is a moot point.

This. OP don't let your generous nature be taken advantage of, I think it's a huge co-incidence that neither the child nor his mum mentioned the limos if its such a big deal at your school. I'd be stopping the babysitting now and telling them that you include their child in your household and you're disgusted at their lack of respect for your child.

So, OP, I'm not the only one who has suggested you no longer do the childcare for the boy you currently mind. Are you going to?

See, I knew no good would come of banning crisps and coke at school, now it's all lentils and limos.
