it may not be the same as being in a limo with friends but it will do.

The ones who drive round for an hour in a limo might find its actually pretty dull. Your son will probably have the better afternoon!

    That's a bit random :rotfl:

BUt maybe the fact nobody knows who the Stig is could be used to the OP's advantage, in fact he can tell everyone his mum is the Stig :rotfl:

They were planning a limo ride at the primary school my son went to, he was gutted he had to leave 6 weeks early when we moved house but I doubt he'd have made the final list either.

At his new school they all went swimming and then to Pizza Express.

Yet more Americanisms! I couldn't believe my eyes on Facebook when a former colleague's daughter was 'graduating' from Nursery in full cap and gown!!!

It's horrible when your child is the one excluded from a social event by their peers. Have been there with my daughter. Though where I live it's purely leaving Secondary that is marked by limos and parties, my thoughts would be do you know someone with a special vehicle/flash car that could take your son?

I think that's a good idea. It gives children something to aim for and work towards. It would be even better if we held underachievers back a year until they've grasped the required level. With summer schools to help.

Driving around in circles for an hour. Good God. I can't think of anything more boring.

My son is year 6 and wouldn't want to do it. If I told him that I was taking him out somewhere special instead, he'd jump at the chance.

OP, you say your son is upset, but kids are very influenced by their parents. If YOU play it down completely, even to the point of saying how much you would prefer to do xxxxx, then he'll think the same.

Don't skip the last day of school,
And don't you dare make hom leave early!

He's earned his last day. Let him enjoy it.

If you really want to do something special, then take the bull by the horns and arrange a get together in the summer holidays round yours and invite his best friends. Do it properly with invitations and something special in terms of activities (e.g a cinema night/sleepover/special dinner/games evening etc) That will last longer and mean more than any stupid car journey.
"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."

Limos are passe. Do something actually cool and fun. Find someone with a classic bike willing to give him a lift. Educate him in bike safety, and tog him out properly.

I did a bbq/garden party when my son left yr 6 and I was one of the very few to do anything. Son went to a birthday party when he was in yr 6 and was taken to a restaurant by limo. They gave them fizzy pink apple juice to drink during the ride and I think it was the novelty of people looking at the car as it drove past they liked- though that experience would be very much diluted if every primary child in town has also got limos.

Limos are tacky as !!!! anyway. Don't know why anyone cares. Whenever I (or most people) see a Limo driving around with people poking their heads out of it pretending they're special, myself and everyone else looks at them as if to say "what sad !!!!!!!s".

Get a Helicopter to pick him up before the Limos turn up.

What's special about going in one anyway if they're ALL doing it?
