ALDI, the hidden cost of cheap products

I have offered my own customers total value and total service for almost 30 years. I am retired, I look for entertainment if that means court action to prove I am right and that the law is on my side, then yes, my time is worth little. I will not be walked over, I will not be pushed around and believe that the more people that fight the better.
Sorry (not really)
So you want to waste the taxpayers money in running a court case for a fiver.
What a nob.
I would suggest that everyone sends a paypal payment of 5p to the OP's email address outoftouchwithreality@sad.com hopefully if enough people do, he should get his fiver back and enough to pay for a newtin of worthers originals0 -
I have always prefered buying from British owned stores but feel unsupported on this.I have used the ALDI store concerned for many years £30-£40 per week.
You prefer using British owned stores but more than happy to spend £30-£40 per week in a German owned one?
If you go to court, your case will be laughed out before it even begins.
You have no proof of any contract between you and the Aldi store, and hence no way to prove that Aldi have broken this contract.0 -

That REALLY made me laugh!!0 -
I have a witness, what I have said is although that is sufficient for the law it is something of an extreme to have to take him specially to the store.
Wow - so all i need to return all my old junk to Aldi is a witness i bought it there? Ive got 20.
"Hi, ho, hi, ho - its off to Aldi we go"
Ive never read so much nonsense.
Keep your reciepts in future!
You could have stolen it, got it from Rymans, Ebay, Gumtree etc. etc.
Now i'm off Asda - i always buy Briitish too. What do you mean they are American.0 -

Can your witness be 100% certain that the item you are returning is the same one that he say you buy?
For all we know, you could be a serial "hobby case" buyer and be trying to offload an old broken one.0 -

Can a receipt prove 100% that the item you are returning is the same one that the OP bought? That's a silly argument. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -
I appear to have a pretty closed mind on this, the law tells me that because the goods are faulty that I am entitled to my money back. Without the receipt I considered it fair to ONLY request an exchange, the quality is actually not good enough and I would prefer to buy something better.
I was accompanied by a friend who is prepared to confirm that I purchased the box. This would be a MEGA inconvenience, to collect him and go to the store, have a confrontation with the manger, threaten court action, have my friend make a sworn statement, FOR £3.99 !!!!
What I am thinking is that faulty goods are returned, by the retailer to the manufacturer either for a refund or replacement, therefore ALDI cannot lose by offering an exchange.
ALDI have no financial benefit in not replacing faulty goods, only the negative impact of alienating customers.
I have used the ALDI store concerned for many years £30-£40 per week and for exchanging a faulty item they have their own staff under strict instructions, no receipt no exchange no matter what.
So the law is on my side and should I wish to take county court action, with sworn statements or witnesses, I will win.
A witness is not proof of purchase so good luck with thatDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I very much doubt it was a serious argument0
