Lovely sunny day, if a bit cold. But I have got rugs out on line to air out, given them a good beating, and windows open to air house out thoroughly.

Not a lot of actual cleaning, more a freshening up!:rotfl:

    Evening All

WelshWoofer, commitment to the cause is nice way to put it, but probably insanity more accurate description :rotfl:.

Well, that chance I took washing curtains, they shrank! I'm not surprised and TBH I'd rather have clean, bit too short curtains than mucky, mildew ones. They still look and smell lovely, I think a visit to the haberdashery to get some pretty beading to sew along hems will fix it, they just need to last me a couple of years until I redecorate.

As well as ironing incredible shrinking curtains, which took ages, I have started washing down walls and paintwork in lounge and cleaned light fitting.

Ordered pizza for tea, but with 50% off voucher, so ok with :money:.

Right today is the start of the great paintathon :eek::eek:
The spare room is now empty and ready to attack with a roller. Its the last job on the list apart from sorting through my wardrobe.

I'll try to do a complete first coat today and see what it looks like after that. Wish me luck.:)

Been a bit lax lately and spent 2 and a half hours in hospital yesterday with 500 or so other people waiting to get an MMR booster for my son - way too stressful.

Not much today but every little helps. So far garden has been tidied up. There's a wash on and my OH will be painting our son's bedroom :T

Were you in one of the queues on the news Sequeena? At least its done now.

I've finished emulsioning the spare room - twice! Am quite pleased with my efforts although I have very achey arms now.:) I'll do the skirtings tomorrow and then its ready for the new carpet on Thursday.

The man came to have a look at cleaning the conservatory roof and gutters and I was pleasantly surprised with the quotation of £60. There's a lot to do and its a yukky job so rather him than me!
He also quoted me for the painting of the fashia boards - that will have to wait a month or two though.

Who's bright idea was it to do all this cleaning and decorating....????!!!! I'll have to win the lottery to pay for everything I'd like to do!:rotfl:

Yes I was. It was manic as there were only 2 nurses available but it was worth the wait.

And no painting has been done. Eek. We need it done by Tuesday as we're having a kingsize bed delivered (inlaws are staying in there for a week at the end of April then we are moving our son in there and using the kingsize bed ourselves).

Garden has been cleaned though. Even got a load of washing on the line :T

Goodness me, welsh woofer, you've been busy, how did you find the tesco value cleaner? I had to buy the normal tesco brand this week as local store had no value, and it's yellow in colour and smelly, no good for washing white walls in bathrooms with:mad:

My window cleaner last year quoted me £50 to clean the gutters, boards etc, its a 4 bedroom detached so a lot of guttering and boards, but the OH said I'll do it, of course he hasn't got round to it due to his professional qualifications exam and his Master Degree he's doing, so went he works away, I get the window cleaner in to do it, he won't notice anyway whether its done or not.

I've been busy outside, the front garden has been pruned, weeded and I've even seeded the few bare bits on the lawn.

I've got two borders to do in rear garden tomorrow, it's hard work as its clay soil, hence me being here at this hour, I fell asleep on sofa at 8 after working in garden today for 7 hours.

The sunlounger chair cushion had faded badly in daylight, and OH had been looking to replace it, couldn't believe the cost of a new cushion, so I took the cover off, wash it and then got a machine dye for £4.99, it looks brand new:j

Need to wash paintwork, paint/touch up garden furniture, touch up fences.

My OH doesn't do gardening, cause he's rubbish at attention to detail, his idea of garden, is running the flymo as quickly as possible over grass and edging the bits you can see from the window. He must have felt quilty today, as he's replaced one of the laminate boards on bathroom flooring as it was lifting near bath, and he's redone the bath sealant, what a difference that makes. It was a big job replacing that one board (thank goodness we had kept spare boards in loft) so really pleased with that.

I haven't ordered the office carpet as they no longer do the carpet we have upstairs, and I don't do different colour carpets in a house, must be the same throughout, so going to replace the laminate with hardwood flooring.

I waffled enough, going to grab a coffee then dust downstairs.

Edit, I'm sat on sofa with a coffee, the cat was sleeping on windowsill, shes fallen off into the large plant pot under the window. I've spilt my coffee laughing, gosh my girl is daft. Soil all over living room floor now.

Merlot - I can't stand gardening, might be something to do with really bad hayfever and allergies. But I have made myself promise that this year I will do something to it rather than just mow the grass. The house has been almost completely redecorated over the past 2 years (apart from the kitchen which will cost a fortune so will have to wait) so there's not many jobs left to stop me getting out into the garden and sorting that.
Well done on "rescuing" the lounger cover, I wouldn't have thought of doing that.

Well, today is painting the skirtings day. I hate that job so will be glad to see it out of the way. :o I need to take the carpet up too. Other than that I've pretty much finished the list of spring cleaning jobs. :T
Will iron the new duvet cover and curtains and put the new lightshade up ready for when the new furniture arrives on the weekend (new carpet on Thursday).
Running out of excuses to not do the garden now.....
  • Well I had a fail of a a weekend and got nothing done other than wiping over the surfaces in the bathroom!
My biggest job left tbh is now to ebay the bits we don't need so we can afford some of the stuff we do need. It's just getting around to taking all the bl00dy photos!
Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!?

I'm trying to talk myself into spring cleaning the dogs. Its a job i hate but they really do need a bath.

I always end up with a soaking wet bathroom and backache.

Maybe if i do one dog today and the other tomorrow it wont be such a chore.
