What cable is it? if its DKU2 or CA53 then most likely will not work.

You need a dku5/ca42 cable a ca53 won't work
once the drivers are installed for the DKU5 cable goto your device manager and see which Com it is set to the match it with the program
if it still don't connect... update the drive as seen here:


select the one thats called USB2VCOM.SYS

Slightly technical question!!

Using the program NSS (Free from b-phreaks) you can debrand your BB5 Nokia (Remember that your Warranty may go out the window!). You can also get it to log the information that is stored in the phone at location 308,1 which the new unlocker uses to make the unlock code.

Can anybody compare the log file of the unlocker to the log file of NSS to see how they compare??

If there is some sort of correlation between the data that will help all the people who only have the CA53 or DKU2.

After two years of waiting I have at last been able to unlock my 6680.
Thanks to everyone who posted here and gave me the help I needed.
Just need to learn how to de-brand it now. Anybody able to help??

download nss from here:

and nsu from nokia site (nokia updater)
install both
Connect your phone and wait for Windows to install the drivers.
Open NSS and click on “Scan for new device” on the right-upper part of the window
Click on the icon « Phone info »
Click on “Scan”
type in the required product code for your model (you need the generic (unbranded one)
tick enable
press write then it should be changed (it only takes a sec)
then use nokia updater to update phone and it will find the latest unbranded flash and install it for you

type the product code 0521637 (this is the product code for France!) but it leaves your phone as fresh as when Nokia made it.... (Don't worry about language...it IS still in English)

Any reason to use this as opposed to 0520999? Is there is difference in firmware version or other?
