    Hi southwester,
I hope things are going better for you, I think relationships can weather storms as long as both parties are interested in staying together.

I think you should put energy into relationship but also think about yourself and what you really want from life.
When something dramatic happens in life sometimes it is the best time to look at your life and reassess and see what it is really important.

    Take care honey

  • OK work this one out!

Wife was asked to go to her old bosses 50th party in Bristol, 1 and half hours from us. I offered to go up in the evening and meet her there as during the day i play cricket (not mickey mouse - semi pro cricket) and have already missed 2 games.

Anyway she said that would be no good as I wouldnt get There until 1000hrs, so I said go on your own then. She doesnt want to because she knows I wouldnt be happy with that (trust issue), which is true but I would be preperaed for her to go. The OM wouldnt be there and her her ex boss is an OK guy.

Dont want to be the one who stops her doing things but at the same time, it aint my fault all this has happened

At the end of the day it is up to her. You have told her that your happy to meet her there. Which is a sign that you'll trust her for a little while. She has turned round and said no.

There is nothing more you can do. You are not stopping her, she is stopping herself.

I agree with Lucy. I think you've done totally the right thing by saying that you're prepared for her to go without you.

She has to allow you to trust her in these situations.

She is putting herself out to put you completely at ease. It may be a deliberate message that she is willing to make some sacrifices in order that this should work.

However, there is a possibility that in the future it may be used against you. But then again - I'm sure virtually anything you do could possibly be used against you. You'll just have to take it on trust.

i think your right, she is trying to put me at ease but I can tel you it would be used against me in the future, which is why I said for her to go on her own:mad:

You don't know that. It's only a risk. Provided you've made it clear she can go, she can't really say anything later. If she doesn't go then be happy with that.

Things have changed, for both of you - and if you look on the down side to everything, then you won't succeed in what you're trying to do.

If making sacrifices makes you mad, why should she bother?

  • The sacrifce isnt making me ma ZTD, I just want her to be at ease with her decision, I know she really wants to go but isnt because of me, which is down to the trust issue but I know what you mean

    Thanks

No, she isn't going because of what she did. Not because of you.
