Good luck SW, everyone just wants to see you happy, that's all. I think it's great that you're both trying to work out your problems and I really hope it all works out for you and you both grow old together.

Keep posting though, it will be a long road and sometimes I bet there will be things you want to get off your chest, but not to your wife. We all just want whats best for you and are here to support you through everything.

Its great to hear that you are both willing to give it a go. Too many people give up too quickly on their marriages (in my opinion). I am 3 years down the line from where you are today - and we both say out loud at least 4 times each week that we were glad we didnt let each other go. We had gotten very staid in our relationship and both used to put other things first because we were too complacent. But now its a very different story. Things are not the same, they are much much better because we work at it every day. We make more time for each other (although still not enough!). I can also confirm that the horrible images do recede and fade away to almost nothing. I have learned so much about myself and also my hubby and relationships from my "episode" and he has too. Whilst I wish it had never happened, I am
grateful for what I have learned and if all lessons have to be learned the hard way, so be it. At the end of the day, for all the hard work that we have both put in, our family is still together and very happy - I am wishing the same for you 3 years on too.

I am so pleased that you have decided to try and make it work. I wish both of you all the best and have my fingers crossed that in 10 years time you will look back on this and realise that is has made your relationship stronger.

  • Thanks DD and Sus1e, the best advice I was given to follow my heart, which I have and not got all hissy with her and walked out as I did feel like a couple of times.

Huge steps to take, but 1 at a time

  • Been there and got the t shirt too.
I did the playing away, tried four years to make it work after that, eventually cut my losses, every time we had the slightest row it was thrown back at me. Hope you dont find yourself doing the same....
    Never been happier since :)

Should say we have both never been happier since, as someone said earlier things sometimes have a natural end.
Pleased some people worked it out, just my opinion, as everyone elses, opinions being like belly buttons, we all have one and they dont hold much water !

I think the secret of not throwing it back when you have a row is to deal with it well and truly at the time. We left no stone unturned and hubby did (and still does)all he could to make sure that I felt secure and loved. All I can say to Dave the cardboard box is that you didnt try hard enough mate.

Its not going to be easy to forgive and forget but thats what I will try, theres no point throwing it back in her face if it is going to work, its about what you want, as I said earlier it may it may not work, but we aer going to try
