Just wrote a detailed post about delays in payment, the need to chase just about every claim and other wheezes used by TCB and suppliers.
But it failed to submit on MSEs site.
So put simply, avoid TCB except to check cash back available. Go direct to supplier and if they wont match then shop elsewhere.0 -
Hi there,
Thank you for letting us know about this. Usually cash back offers are handled with the cash back sites directly. However, I appreciate that this has been less than ideal and we would like to see how we can help.
Please get in touch using the contact details which can be found on our profile page.“Official Company Representative
I am the official company representative of HomeServe. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -
Hi everyone,
@ legendkiller2k8 – The cashback site won't be paid unless it’s the last referrer. This happens with other cashback sites too as all commission sources are treated fairly and equally. It’s fair, it’s equal and we can’t ask for anything fairer.
While you may try and sometimes successfully manage to get the merchant to goodwill payment (whether that’s directly or through us) there’s no guarantees with this. In addition to this, as merchants don’t need to offer commission for their products. An influx of customers complaining our site was not regarded as the last referrer may make them review offering commission.
I am sorry you don’t like earning cashback through us but I can’t apologise that we are treated in the same manner as all other commission sources. While I understand it’s annoying not getting something you think you will get, it’s not guaranteed, it’s never promised as guaranteed and it’s not the same as a merchant saying on their website buy X and get X amount cashback. We pay you the commission we get paid, this is not a special offer.
Regards,
Matt
Let us look at the facts shall we TCB declined the following for me SKY,BT,Energy helpline
i contacted Sky, the cashback suddenly appears as payable.
I contact BT the cashback suddenly appears as payable.
I contact energy helpline i get a email from energy helpline saying "well that isn't right at all we must pay this cashback as we were offering it, it is a incentive which we must honour as you have fulfilled you part of the agreement." a couple of weeks after the cashback shows up as payable.
I think the proof is in the pudding TCB don't you?0 -
I had the same issue last year with a Nationwide Bank Account. TCB just didn't want to know. Even though this would be covered by the Financial services Ombudsman and TCB are vicariously liable. Contacted Nationwide and after a couple of letters, including mention of said Ombudsman, it was paid directly to my account.
Thanks for nothing TCB.
The cynic in me suspects that the merchants and TCb rely on a number (increasing) of clients who accept the merchants and TCB's BS replies denying cashback and don't question it or chase it, in order to offer the sometime good cashback rates. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
The alleged Ringleader.........0 -
Lets look at another fact - There isnt even a small print disclaimer is there -
https://www.topcashback.co.uk/newsletter/view/2263
It cant be any clearer "deposit and wager 20.00 get 40.00 cashback"
"When you deposit and wager £20.00, you will also earn £40.00 exclusive cashback"
TCB appear to be portraying cashback a bit like a lottery "a situation whose success or outcome is governed by chance"0 -
I have been waiting a year for 2 cashbacks. Topcashback are useless0

I too have an outstanding claim - getting on for 12 months. As with others, a transaction is recognised by TCB but they claim the merchant Currys, won't accept it. It was worth £78 and I could have bought the item cheaper elsewhere were it not for the cashback, so I am truly out of pocket going through TCB.0

I wish you could get TopCashBack on Inertia:)0

I suggested to them that because they take a fee that they should pay the cashback and then claim it back from the merchant. See how fast they act when the boot is on the other foot. USELESS0

Check every day, write on here, send support tickets and missing cashback claims and nothing doing (or should I say doing nothing).0
