Can you clarify the meaning of 'confirmed' against a transaction in one's account?

Does it mean they will definitely pay out?

Say one had been paying an insurance policy for seven months that states you qualify for cashback if you make at least six payments, though it may not actually pay until eight or more months pass. Fair enough.

But if one then needed to cancel the policy before the merchant pays TCB, can they still cancel your cashback?
  • Hi All,

Apologies if this question is already asked but I couldn't find it.

How is in-store cashback different from coupons? A store could have coupons which are already available on TCB website and then we have this in-store cashback. Is this in-store cash back concept different from the coupon codes concept? I see no difference between them as the coupons also give us discount (instant) and the in-store cashback also does the same (not instant!). Then why do we have this in-store concept?

    Thank you.

    Hi Everyone,

I hope you all have had a fantastic start to the week! :j

@faerielight - If you could drop me an email to mse@topcashback.co.uk and whether this is in regards to a payout request or a transaction I can certainly look into this for you.

@woodface7 - Confirmed does mean that the validation period has passed and the merchant is happy to pay the cashback. However, please bear it in mind that ultimately cashback decisions are made by the merchant and not us and so if this decision does change we will have to amend the transaction in your account. Transactions like this changing are incredibly rare.

@Nt4help - In store is the overall branch we use for all in store offers including coupons. However, as well as coupons we have other In Store offers such as On Card, Snap and Snap and In Store Receipt Submission Offers.

To break this down you have the following Avaliable:

Coupons - This is where you show the coupon in store and get a discount.

On Card - This is where you register your card for the scheme, activate the offer, use the card in store and then the cashback tracks back to your TopCashback Account.

Snap & Save - This is where we have specific grocery products that you can earn cashback on. All you have to do is buy the product, click the offer you wish to redeem and them upload your receipt.

In Store Receipt Submissions - This is similar to Snap and Save but for certain in store offers.

I do hope this helps everyone.

    Best wishes,
    Matt

  • Hi Matt,

Thanks for the reply. But my question is whats the advantage of having in-store cashback when we already have coupons model. Why not have coupons at those retailers too where you currently have, for example, On Card or In-Store receipts model? Coupons model is well known and easy (straight discount for us). Why inventing a new model? Any advantages?

    Thanks.

If you upgrade to plus does the uplift apply to pending cashback in your account or only for transactions made after you upgrade?

    Hi Nt4help and POPPYOSCAR,

@Nt4help - Our Members do tell us they want to earn cashback in different ways and it allows us to have a range of different ways to earn cashback on your purchases. On Card for example is a great way to activate the offer and not to have to worry about having your phone fully charged or your printed coupon in hand to earn money off your purchase.

Snap and Save is also a great offer for members who want to claim cashback on transactions after they have made the purchase - rather than having to remember to show their coupon.

@POPPYOSCAR - If you switch your account to Plus Membership now only transactions made after that time will be eligible for higher top up rates. However, you can take advantage of the higher payout bonuses.

    Best wishes,
    Matt

  • Moving swiftly into the sixth wonderful month of having 0 progress on my missing cashback claim.
I'd like to thank Matt for emailing more or less the same thing I get from every reply from the missing claims dept, which is to blame the merchant. Though TCB did raise the wrong amount of cashback onto my account, moved it into pending only to just as quickly remove it with no say so, so thats something. What I guess im trying to say is that if you find yourself needing to raise a missing CB claim you'd be better off assuming it's gone forever and just don't use TCB again, count it as a lesson learned or something. If you need any more convincing just look at all the unsolved claims in this forum and others.
