is the issue they are adding additives to the meat? or using Meat that is contaminated with cattle that have had BSE.

Jamie Oliver is not mentioning anything about BSE.

the timings that the us mac folks were using were contaminated with bugs. they washed it in breach to kill the bugs they turned it into gloup and were allowed to pad out mince with it to 20%. mac donalds were involved in the bse issue they were forced to withdraw all there beef products. remember going in and only seeing chicken ans fillets of fish.

    Seems a bit unlikely ;)

Edit the BSE crisis issue meant that many companies stopped using British Beef. That is why Mcdonalds would have suspended beef burgers in their stores. They were not "forced" to remove them from the menu

Yes but folks were refusing to eat the burgers because of the nationwide issue about British Beef and BSE, not because of any concerns with Mcdonald's quality.

If I remember right (and it was a while ago). They just switched everything to Argentinian Beef and went on as normal.

I have doubts about the McBug theory :)

bugs as in micro-organism or bugs as in beetles?
WHat goes on in the US does not really matter though. They have there own food laws and regulations and Mcdonalds are probably comparable to other burger manufacturer out there.

Were all food companies that used beef in the early 90's had some issues with BSE to be worried about? not just singling out mcdonalds?

I could argue against some of Jamie oliver foods being very high in fat and sodium if I wanted. just because the meal is free range etc does not mean its healthy.

    TV chefs are not nutritionists.
His heart is the right plaice and most people do not eat at al a carte restaurants everyday either.

Just because some thing looks slimy also does not mean its bad.
Desiccated liver looks vile, but its good for you.
