    Wrong, only proper cuts of beef used - care to back up your statement?

    I worked there for a while and got all the docs etc, we had access to a surprising amount of product and supplier info.

    Maybe now, but not too long ago this wasn't the case.
    In a statement, McDonald's clarified that it stopped using "select lean beef trimmings" — its preferred term for scrap meat soaked in ammonium hydroxide and ground into a pink meatlike paste — at the beginning of last year.

    That's America only. They've never used that process in the UK.

    what shall they use the trimming for then?
    scrap them. What a waste of meat. That's not very MSE is it.

    It's not hard to find out-

    The recipe will be the same through out the world.
    However you will get variations between countries as they will use different bread / burger suppliers.

    Plus while you can look at beef and see its VL. Its not 100% exact science. So will get natural variations in kcal contents.

    As you were responding to a poster who appeared to have worked in a UK McDonald's then I don't see the relevance about posting about a practice that was only used in America and not in the UK.

    As the poster said only proper cuts of meat are used to make beef burgers. This has always been the case and your statement was incorrect and slightly stupid.

    Don't take it personally as everyone makes mistakes.

    yea right the big food companies would never do that would they. they would never feed animals animal protein BSE or donkey burgers silly us thinking that dont give a tosh apart for their profits. the meat in question that was breached was not fit for human consumption.
