A busy evening - I really CBA, one of those nights were you would just love to flip and get a takeaway but not an option. Cooking bacon, beans, egg and chips. I dropped the sausages on the kitchen floor which was not part of the plan - happy cats and dogs as a result.
3 eggs transformed into 24 buns - 12 vanilla, 12 nesquik. This should keep the boys going for a few days at least.
The hens really are earning their keep :A'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
WantToBeSE - well done on the nans, they look great and what a saving. Very :money:
K9sandFelines - Looks really nice but yes I agree quiche and frittata are much the same to me as well.
No photo tonight because with the best will in the word poached eggs on toast are not THAT photogenic(well mine aren't)
Spent £18.41 today in Morri$ons but have brought some of what was on the list for tomorrow. Hopefully tomorrow will now be under £15
Hope your new kitchens make progress tomorrow, lucky you. I would love a new kitchen with plenty of space. My mum has a really large kitchen but doesn't cook and I have a poky little one which is always in use. Life is so unfair at times :rotfl:MARCH £62.38/2500 -
Thank you to all who posted good wishes for my eye appointment, it means a lot to me. Well it went very well, the Consultant was a real sweetheart and the nurses were so helpful and caring, everything was explained to me without making me feel I was being a wuss.
The Consultant has agreed that I can have the Op as soon as posssible,
and ( a really excited bum wiggle here) that he can also correct my shortsightedness. he says if all goes well then I will not need glasses Which means I will be able to see properly for the first time in 50 years.
He did explain that there is a small risk of it not working and blindness but then said but your sight is so bad you have nothing to lose so I quickly signed where he put his finger.
Anyway back on topic I dont think I need to go shopping for me tommorow as didnt feel much like eating last week and have loads to use up but will go to market and get fruit an veg for my DD as its half and price and better quality than the supermarkets. Thank you all again for the support.Slimming World at target0 -
This grocery challenge is not going well this month
Just been sorting out a purse full of receipts and have spent £2.99 in B&M for a packed of dishwasher tablets. £13.28 in Tesco and £78.84 in Aldi. I now have the sum of £5.16 for my next shop!!! Just can't seem to get on top of my spending. Well, it looks like I'll be going over again this month when I promised Hubby I would not have the accounts go over drawn this month.
So I have to do minimal damage over the next 12 days until it's payday
Pajama - can we help you do some damage limitation? Bet you have loads in if you've been overspending, if you post what you have we can help you come up with meals? Maybe even just using this you have in if poss, to help keep you under budget?
Small spends yesterday - £2 on outdoor-bred sausages and £1 on tampons at Mr M. I had a big salad (feta, almonds, butternut & leaves with yoghurt dressing) for dinner as OH out. I was at the gym so he was out before I got home, I see a smoked sausage has appeared in the fridge so will update sig once I know how much that cost :rotfl:Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Had a spend on £4.55 in Mr S yesterday (would have been £7.05 but used £2.50 worth of Nectar points).
Needed to get some lunch items because I haven't had any leftovers this week. Really notice the difference between home cooked and supermarket prepared
Dinners this week so far have been/will be:
Monday (I cooked): - Tuna, roasted pepper, chilli, tomato and olive pasta. (used up the last of a jar of pickled peppers gifted to me Christmas 2011!!!)
Tuesday (housemate cooked): Shakshuka (an Israeli tomato based dish with peppers and poached egg on top). Served in individual pans with bread to dip in.
Wednesday (housemate cooked): Salmon with dijon and parsley breadcrumb crust served with mash and broccoli
Thursday (housemate will cook): Slow cooked beef and potato Madras curry with coriander
Friday: (I'll cook): Gochujang chicken (Korean chilli paste - have a tub in the fridge which is on my 'next to use up' list), with leftover roasted butternut squash and rice
Saturday: (I'll cook): Jerk marinated chicken with coriander and chilli crushed sweet potato served with broccoli.

I spent £63.18 in Tesco today. I didn't want to use Tesco but they sent me so many vouchers with my clubcard, it would've been daft not to go.
Still under budget at the moment but it's getting close.
I've just started the second purse challenge so I'm using my grocery budget to fund that. I'm using £10 a week towards that.0 -
