NSD for me. Will update sig once on laptop. I've just tried to replicate LMc Quinoa and Sweet Potato Kievs for my tea in order to use up the Quinoa. One ingredient i will not buy again. I had no eggs so couldn' t bind them as well as i liked, but nice all the same.

Walked into a nearby town (close to an 11 mile round trip!) on Monday, and nipped into an ethnic food store for an explore. Spent £7.06, but I expected to spend more than that as this was the reason for walking in (the ethnic shops are on a main road I use into the town, but I've never seen any parking spaces to call in before).

Today saw me in Cost0, which I knew was going to happen before the end of this week as there were a couple of special offers that end on Sunday I wanted. Another £51.54 gone, but that gives me spuds for at least a couple of weeks (probably 3), onions for at least a couple of months (last bag's lasted me 9 or 12 weeks - not logged in my spreadsheet as they missed charging me for it, and I can't remember which trip I got them on), 24 wonderfully lean pork steaks (one of the offers I especially went in for), and 10 portions of lemon and pepper sole goujons (the other offer, but not as important to me as the pork steaks) - plus 2kg of satsumas (looks like 18 good sized fruits in the net bag), a 1.36kg bag of Cr@isins (also on offer, for munchies and baking), 2 loaves of bread and a dozen huuuuge muffins (lots of calories to consume as I've stepped up my exercise regime, so I plan to 'spend' them on things I love as a supper time treat).

So I'm now £61.26 over for the month, but still £102.20 under for the year to date. One more small trip to Mr T either tomorrow or Friday - but I don't expect the food part of that bill to come in at more than £5.

Went to Mr S today for some fruit, cheese and flowers, total £11.37, but had 2 NSD earlier this week. Should not need any shopping until Saturday. My month ends on Tuesday, looks to be well within budget, will have a think with how much we can reduce for May challenge.

Hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather.

Edited to add dinner tonight: stir fried chicken/veggies with rice
Tomorrow will be pasta cauli cheese bake

  • Hello Everyone :)

Last day of my April GC today and I'm declaring at £287.45/£300 :T.

Had last spend at Mrs S today on 8pts milk, loaf of bread, 6 eggs, some Mr S multigrain boulders cereal for DS and DD and some Basics teabags = £5.65, added to my total and updated signature.

Thanks to everyone for the inspiration and to those running this brilliant thread. I'm off to the May GC, see you all there. Might be brave and try and reduce my budget a bit.

    Keep Smiling :)
