I just read on Lauren's blog that there is to be a second series :T
At the end of the programme last night they were asking for anyone who was interested to apply at their website. Personally, even if I had the necessary skills (and mine are nowhere near good enough) I'd be an absolute gibbering basketcase - 8 hours to make an evening dress from scratch  Even an hour to alter something wouldn't be long enough0 -
I really enjoyed last night's programme. Ann was a worthy winner. Felt so sorry for Lauren but she came through in the end with that gorgeous dress.
So pleased there is to be a second series :beer:Flowers are sunshine for the soul0 -
I enjoyed it -and I normally hate dressmaking. It has inspired me to try and shorten a slip to wear under a dress I got from the charity shop for a christening.None of the local shops sell slips of the right length and I don't want to go into town. MIL gives me a slip nearly every Christmas so I have lots-about 3 for every skirt I own.I've just looked on You-tube and am doing my first ever rolled hem.0

I wish I had known about this. It's not far from me!
I shall pop down sometime.

Poppy - mention of Ann Ladbury got me thinking - does anyone remember a programme form around 1970 that was on around lunchtime I think - called Houseparty which was a group of women around a kitchen table chatting and making and doing various craft things - also bits on make-up - I loved it.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -

I remember that. I'd watch it occasionally if I was off school for any reason, and I think it might have been on during the school holidays too. They did all sorts of stuff on it. I also used to like Pebble Mill at One (I think she appeared on that sometimes didn't she?)0
