New show on TV about sewing

I trained as a teacher in the 70s and my main subject was dress. We each had to produce 3 haute couture standard outfits. We did lots of high level craft stuff too. Unfortunately I never really got to teach it as it was phased out in our local schools.
I like crafts now but have forgotten most of the techniques of dressmaking so this programme acts as a reminder. However, back then I was a size 10/12 and now I am not and I prefer to buy my clothes. I feel too lumpy bumpy to feel good in my own efforts.
One thing though, about last night's programme was when she was demonstrating how to make a simple cushion, she whizzed through it too quickly. It was ok for someone like me but not for beginners to follow. Still, if there is a book to go with it....0 -

I agree it was far too fast. I'm going to have a look at the book to see if it's worth getting though. Maybe get it cheaper from The Book People (I got the new Paul Hollywood one cheaper from there)0 -
What with this and the other program on baking, has the BBC been taken over by the WI?If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

A sign of the times - next there'll be a good home DIY programme!
I grew up with 'home made' clothes - knitted or sewn. I made most of my kids clothes out of remnants or cut down bigger garments so I'd love to see a challenge where the contestants are given a pile of old clothes and are told to make themselves a new outfitI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -

I was given her Craft book a couple of years ago, but wasn't very impressed with it.0
