Nectar AMEX Annual Charge £25

Has anybody else received a letter informing them that there will now be a £25 charge on the Nectar AMEX card? There is a link with more details to: http://americanexpress.co.uk/nectarpremium They seem to be offering an opt out of the annual charge but with worse Nectar points.

Has anybody else just received an email from Nectar informing them of the good news that they will now get to pay £25 a year for their Nectar card?

I assume that it was a global mail shot as I had opted out long before the deadline but rather stupidly the email contains a link to the Nectar website FAQs that say you need to opt out by 10th May!
