I'm surprised that work doesn't involve thinking about money though0 -
They seemed to have changed the rules on the way this is paid.
Last year, my OH and I each received £100. This year, my OH has had word that he will be getting the entire £200While I appreciate that as a household we will still be getting the same amount, I am the one who actually used my £100 to buy coal last year and this year I have nothing.
they have not changed the way it is paid, it is paid the same way that it always has been
Can a couple both receive the Winter Fuel Payment?
If your partner gets a Job Seeker's Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or Pension Credit, the Winter Fuel Payment will be paid to your household.
Otherwise, if you share your home with another qualifying person, you will each get a shared payment depending on your situation.

Our situation has not changed since last year when we each got £100.0 -
change of address?
Nope but I have checked last year's qualifying week and it is possible that my OH was not getting pension credit that week but he was getting it by the time the wfa was paid.
Therefore, you are right in that they have not changed the rules but I do not think it is fair. They obviously live in some kind of ideal world where spouses share things like money0 -

OK. So it's his turn to buy the coal, isn't it, since he gets the whole amount and that's what it's meant to be for.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.
