You have to remember that we don't all like the same temperature. At one time there were 6 of us in the house: in cold weather 2 would be what I'd call 'normally' dressed, 2 would be happiest in as little as possible, 1 would be 'sensibly' dressed for cold weather with an extra jumper, and I'd have thermal long johns, thick socks, vest, thin jumper, shirt and cardigan, with a shawl over my shoulders when sitting down and wheat bags suitably warmed to cuddle.

Since then DH's thermostat has 'broken', so he feels the cold much more than he used to, and often wants the fire on for part of the evening. Meanwhile I'm sweltering!

I have to say that I was reluctant to get an electric blanket, especially as DH usually runs very hot, but it has revolutionised bedtime. I pop my PJs in there when we turn it on and slide in as quick as I can ...

My point about wrapping in a blanket to for my swotting was to show the difference between then and now.

We can keep warm, reasonably dressed for the season of course.

    I don't understand these non-heating Spartans!

Well I don't think I'm a Spartan but haven't had the heating on today, or yesterday, can't remember when it was on. I have windows open as well. I think some of us just feel the cold more than others, we have a battle at work between the "hot" people and "cold" people. The thing I do notice is the people who want the heat on full blast seem to have more time off sick, now I don't know if this is because an overheated house is less healthy, I was brought up with little heating as my father always said it was unhealthy, or perhaps people who feel the cold are sicklier? May just be a coincidence. Might be an interesting study for someone.

I never have heating in the bedroom, if the central heating is on the radiator in the bedroom is off and the window open. I love getting into bed in a cold room, snuggling down under the duvet and I am soon warm. Hot summer weather is a misery and I have a fan on all night to try and cool me down. No good me moving to a hot climate.
