  • Afternoon All,

A very quiet afternoon in work most people are off, don't blame them! I've got the sore throat and cold that's doing the rounds in the office just in time for easter weekend. I'll be on alcohol tonight for medicinal purposes of course :). Fed up of feeling poorly, i'm taking vitamins, eating well, exercising, not drinking and can't see to be well for more than a few days without coming down with something. It's annoying.

Not much fabbing here, I did moisturise my face and that's where it ended. On a plus I'm drinking plenty of water and not eaten any rubbish today.

I just want some sunshine now or spring to come, the cold weather gets too you after a while.

    Eh xx

    Hello all!
Its a bright sunny cold day here up north and I feel much better after a good sleep. I'm too old for mid week drinking these days :rotfl:
EH - hope you're feeling better today. The weather looks a little bit brighter so perhaps its almost spring now?

I've finished work for two weeks now (apart from a day of revision next week) so its a chance for a bit of a break. I have a few things planned to get me out and about and socialising, the first being tomorrow - a curry night with the Spice lot. I'm also off for a breakfast and mooch around a museum with them on Monday, something different at least.

Glad to hear that the meetup groups are working for you Pod. Its just a matter of making yourself go isn't it?

I'm going to take the dog for a good yomp around a National Trust park in an hour or so to blow away the cobwebs. Will be good to get some fresh air (that horrible wind seems to have gone) and a stretch of the legs - there's lots of young deer there at the moment so will spend a bit of time looking at them and communing with nature :).

Not sure what else to do with the day yet - I'm not very good at doing nothing so I'll have to find something to keep me occupied.
Hope you all have a good Easter break. x

It's a lovely sunny day here at the moment and really makes it feel Spring like. Unfortunately, I have work so won't be able to go for a walk or a run but will cycle to work and back (only 3/4 mile each way though so not far).

The healthy eating at mealtimes is going well but I still have succumbed to a few extras so need to work on that. I've been drinking loads of weak sugar free squash though so am keeping my liquid intake up. I've taken a bottle to keep in the fridge at work which helps. I need to have a drink every time I want to snack which should help on two counts.

Hope everyone has a good Easter. Now to go and have a shower and decide what to wear for work - that I can cycle in too.

  • Morning All,

Thanks WW feeling a bit brighter still got cough/sore throat but dosed myself up. Off to meet a friend for coffee in a bit, hair dried & makeup on to perk myself up.

Need a new chest of drawers for bedroom (too many clothes) so might go browse the furniture stores this afternoon. Otherwise a relaxing day.

I'm tempted to try the meet up groups to expand my social circle, is there an average age? Xx

I fabbed myself up today for a change after being stuck in all week with that freezing cold winter weather.

A lovely day here today and could feel some warmth from the sun at last!

Fab exercise today has been 6 week 6 pack and lots of walking and off out around the waterpark this afternoon with mr dog to stretch our legs and get some fresh air.

Off to visit mum tomorrow and have bought her some nice bright spring flowers instead of a chocolate egg which she prefered.

Hoping to get out for a decent run this weekend now the weather's picked up a little

Happy Easter everyone and don't gorge too much on that choccie!

Not really - each group is different and they tend to tell you what age group they're aimed at, you can tell by the activities they do too. Most of them have photos on them too so have a nosey and see whether they look like your type of people ;)

Been spring cleaning (house fabbing) - have even scrubbed the inside of the fridge and microwave :) Downstairs is lovely and clean now - all furniture moved, hoovered, dusted, polished and buffed. Have the windows open to get a bit of fresh air blowing through after all of the central heating recently and its feeling much nicer now (will close them soon though, its getting a bit chilly now I've sat down). Had the music channels blaring on the TV whilst cleaning and have had a good old sing and dance at the same time - think of the cals burnt!!:rotfl::rotfl:

I managed to fit a run in before work after all. My running friend texted just after I'd posted this morning to see if I wanted a run and I decided to fit one in. We managed an hour so about 8k I should think. So my 100k in 4 weeks is looking quite good.

    Happy Easter everyone.

Had a lovely walk around the waterpark this afternoon with my dog as it clouded over a little from that gorgeous blue sky and sun

Have finished fabbing the house up, washing all dried on the line - yeah!

Also have done 2 lots of batch cooking - stretched a pack of mince into 8 portions of spag bol and also 4 chicken thighs into 5 portions of curry all bulked out with plenty of veg. Easy meals now freezing and ready to go for easy teas over the busy next few months.

Morning all! My body hasn't realised I'm on holidays yet and is still waking up at 6am

I'm off to meet friends in the park at 8.30am to have their kids for an hour whilst they go on a marathon training run - I'm not at their running standard (probably never wil be!) so will do my bit and entertain the kids with the dog for a while instead.

Have also decided to fab up the spare bedroom - found some nice teal mix bedding and curtains on the Dunelm website last night and have ordered them to collect so will take them to B&Q to look at paint later. May go on a little trip to Ikea in the week to look at wardrobes and bedside tables. I'm parring down the furniture in the room to make it look a bit bigger and so need a declutter and sort out of the wardrobe (its where I keep my work suits). Will paint the room myself rather than get the decorator to do it to save a couple of hundred pounds that could buy the new bed frame or carpet.

Has anyone done Freecycle? I'd need to get rid of the existing wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedframe - there's nothing wrong with them, they're pine and just look a bit dated - I want a white, blue and teal colour scheme - a bit of a New England style. Someone else maybe glad of them?

Out on a curry night with the Spice lot this evening so have quite a busy day. Will also whizz round the supermarket and get the shopping for the week and a few everyday toiletries.

The spring cleaning continues too - today its the turn of the 2 upstairs bathrooms - time for a good scrub of the tiles, wash down of the painted walls etc. I'm quite enjoying it - when I came downstairs this morning everything just looked superclean and fresh in the morning sun.:)

I too am up early - the sun streams through the bedroom window of our new house and it means I am raring to go as it feels so spring like.

I have used Freecycle loads and had only good experiences. I've given away a lot and even for other people who've asked me to put things on. I've also had a few items - and passed them on again in one case after 6 years - a dining table and chairs that didn't go in this house.

I did some house fabbing last night. I've just bought a lovely bureau which is shabby chic'd in Annie Sloane old ochre to match my kitchen table and chairs to keep my laptop on in my kitchen. I'd got an old pine stool which I am using when sitting at the bureau and last night rubbed down the top with sandpaper ready to wax it and painted the legs. It's the first time I've done anything like that but quite enjoyed it.

No exercise planned for today as I normally have a couple of days off with running twice a week and 3 classes. I have work this evening and am hoping for a shopping trip with visits to the local charity shops once DH is up.
