    Afternoon all!
Its still freezing cold isn't it?

Picking mum and dad up from the airport later - they've been in sunny Tenerife - alright for some!
Just done a quick whizz round clean and tidy of the house - they'll be staying tonight and going home tomorrow. I'll get my house back then, only me and the dog left. Their dog is a bit of a funny one - very timid with other people and dogs but very demanding of me and bullies my dog who's way too soft with him. I know my pooch will be glad to be head of the household again.;)

Lots of fruit again today - not sure whats for tea yet but I do need to get some more water down me - only about a litre so far today. I feel a bit flatter for drinking a lot - flushed out!
I managed a nice bath, face scrub and eye brow tidy last night so feel a bit better today - probably look exactly the same though:rotfl:

I've just got back from a 10k run and have packed up a prawn salad for lunch so am feeling quite good on the fabbing front. Well, internally anyway - with a bright red face and windswept hair I need to do a bit of tidying externally before I set off for work!

I didn't get time to look round any charity shops yesterday so no new clothes. I like to wear velvet jeans and a fitted top for smart casual and love knee length wrap dresses with thick tights and boots for work. I shall have to wear flat shoes for today though as I wore higher heels than normal the other day and my knee definitely doesn't like it. I need to find some smart flattish knee high boots as the only ones I have at present are really too high for working in when I am on my feet a lot.

Right, off to have a shower. Hope you all have a good day.

  • Wow, I am impressed with the 10K run Rose Wood. No chance of that up here with the fresh snow this morning!

I have the evening to myself tonight as OH is out with work collegaues - it at times like this I wish I still had a bath to chill out in but a shower will have to do. Other plans - facial and foot scrub after some Yoga/stretching.

More snow here too all morning.

Fabness today has been 6 week 6 pack and then dyed my hair again a datk chocolate brown - a bit dark but it will fade over the next few weeks.

  • Hello All,

Welcome to the newbies, not been on for a few days.

I'm feeling a lot better and had my blood results back, all negative for stomach problem but need to have more next week to retest my liver ones. No idea what blood tests they carry out for the liver.

Eating is pretty healthy, except the crisps and cake I had this morning, all because I'm bored in work. Exercise wise I'm aiming for 3-4 classes a week, this week fitball, kettlebells, aerobics and swimming.

I know what you mean about clothes, I struggle with finding smart casual and going out tops/clothes. I don't want to dress to young nor old and I can't get away with jeans and hoodies all the time. I need to wear clothes that make the most of my figure rather than hide it which I'm very good at! I'm inbetween sizes for some clothes which annoys me and some of the boxy style tops around at the moment just make me look pregnant or fat and don't do me any favours. Maybe I need a personal stylist though my mum is pretty good at telling me straight!

Hope everyone is warm and well.

    Eh xx

I'm glad you're taking some time for yourself as well as working on the dissertation sparkles.

Quite a bit of fabbing going on here: off for my mani/pedi later and having my eyebrows waxed (using voucher from my birthday so not as extravagant as it sounds). I did buy some jeans at M&S in the end. Strangely enough the cheapest ones fitted me best and at just £12.50 they could be consigned to 'pottering around' wear if I see some I like better.

I treated myself to two tops yesterday: a purple tee shirt with a small sleeve from White Stuff and a dressy sort of sweatshirt from Jack Wills, both reduced in sales. The sweatshirt is navy but it has lace sleeves and a sort of lace insert at the neck. It looks smart on and it's part of my push to look good in casual clothes. It's so easy to look like a bag lady!:rotfl:

Still no snow here but sky is looking less grey than usual! Hope everyone's keeping warm and well.

    Hello all,

Snowflakes are swirling around but they're not settling, mightily chilly out though. Went for a saunter around town at lunchtime, nothing strenuous but better than sitting on my bum at my desk for 45mins.

Almost half way down my 1.5l bottle of squash for the day.

    Keep positively fabulous xx

    Morning all!
Not very bright and breezy this morning after a mid week wine session with some female teacher friends. Good fun and a good old gossip but a late night for me and have a teeny hangover (tiredness I think rather than anything else).
Never mind, its the last day for me before a 2 week Easter holiday - I'm only working for 1 day over the break this time (not many exams to revise for with the kids) so it will be a proper break for me. On a course today too so a later start and slightly earlier finish.

The "girls" from last night have arranged a night out towards the end of the holidays too - so thats something to look forward to as they are good fun and we have lots in common. That's quite a formidable group for a boozy night out - 7 female 40ish teachers, we'll have the pubs running properly in no time:rotfl:

    Morning all,

Been a bit of manic week so just trying to catch up on you all now :) Lovely to see lots of new people as well.

Hewie - she is just gorgeous, am sure she will keep you on your toes :)

maman - I got some quite nice jeans from Dorothy Perkins the other week, do I think 4 different lengths (which is good as I need the short one) and I just got the plain straight legged ones. I hate skinny jeans but they did have some bootcut that were quite nice as well. Re vitamins I take a Vitamin C and iron supplement as I can be very prone to colds etc and I think it does help with that.

LL - hope you're ok hun, completely agree you need to be taking some time and energy for you - please don't feel guilty about that, you'll be no good to anyone if you burn out x

WW - glad you had a good night and yay for holidays starting tomorrow :j - am quite jealous lol.

Well, went out last night as well on a meetup group - was debating whether to go as was snowing yet again (really, it's April next week!!) and very skint as it's payday today but forced myself out, just had 2 cokes all night and really enjoyed it. Found out at work we are closing Monday after all so get a long weekend :) (not Friday as well but hey you can't have everything). Healthy eating slipping a little but not too bad - must do more exercise.

Hope everyone is having a good day x
