    Good morning everyone

I'm back after a lovely weekend with my family which was very relaxing and pleasant. Also managed to get out for a run under a blue sky with sun and didn't smash the kcals either considering it was Easter!

Today will be made up of more uni work, some washing and I'm off in a bit around the waterpark with the dog once he's woken up - lazy bones!

    Morning All

I'm starting a new month feeling full of good intentions so hope it lasts! I had a 10k run this morning, with a 1k walk either end of it so have added another 12k to my 100k in 4 weeks challenge. It soon mounts up doesn't it. I also got weighed and have lost a couple of pounds. I'm only going to get weighed once a month as I got a bit obsessive about it before - stepping on and off the scales several times a day at one point! I haven't been counting calories so am quite pleased with the loss, although I still am about a stone overweight.

Work at 11am so will be on my feet for 6 hours or so. I shall cycle there and back so a bit more exercise. I have to wear flat shoes or my knee starts twinging so can't wear trousers and boots as I often do. It will be a wrap dress, thick tights and a little cardigan. I can't wait for the better weather as I am ready for a change now.

Hope you all have a good Easter Monday.

Just back from the museum and brunch thing - really enjoyed it and met some nice new people.
April is my month too Rosewood - I'm determined to get those last few lbs off this month.

I was watching a program about Phil Taylor the darts player last night whilst munching my way through a bag of revels - he's lost 4 stone by sensible eating and gentle exercise - it shamed me into sellotaping up (with severals turns!) the bag and hiding them in the back of the kitchen cupboard - I kid you not!:rotfl::rotfl:

Did a 3 mile walk this morning with the woofer and am just about to set off again with him - only about 1.5 miles this time though - don't want to wear his little legs out.
Have also started logging things on myfitnesspal again - it keeps me on track and stops me eating when I see what I've actually already scoffed that day.

Bought a new bargain spare bedroom carpet today in the sale - just need to get on and get it painted now:o

Morning all! Another bright sunny day and spring like morning. Hope we all had a fabulous bank holiday weekend all hope those who return to work today have a good day.

Lessonlearned I really admire your attitude- enjoy some you time!

After about a month of feeling newly single and liberated two weeks off is now stretching out in front of me... Maybe this is the time to try and get back on the dating scene however there is an old flame lingering in the background which makes it difficult to really know where to go next...

On the positive side I have really started to enjoy the gym and am amazed that i seem to be fitter than I was last time I went to the gym, must be all the running around I do at work!

I am having my bathroom fabbed today! Got a tiler ocming round who is doing my shower and finishing up some little jobs that have never got done in the 2 years I've lived here. Trying not to feel like i'm being held hostage too much... so will hopefully try to clear some lesson planning and should get to the gym later.

Will hopefully book a meal in for tomorrow night with a group of friends i've not seen for a while.

It's funny I always long for school holidays but then find them really hard when they actually arrive. Guess it is pretty difficult to switch between 100mph and 0mph!

    Anyone doing anything nice today?

Yes - some precious "me" time ...... a little shopping, a bit of gentle dusting, some paperwork and some phone calls. Today it's just catching up with me. ;)

    Enjoy the bathroom fabbing.

Anyway Good Morning Everyone - well today marks the start of yet another "back on the wagon, must try harder, must shift some weight, must exercise more, must sort out my life.......":rotfl::rotfl:

I am determined to do this - it's just that life seems to keep on getting in the way. I know that sounds like such a pathetic excuse but at the moment I'm just so tired and drained. Maybe I just try to do too much too soon, who knows.

Maybe I need a holiday bth I simply can't face it - the thought of travelling anywhere just fills me with horror.

So today it's time to start again.

In the last week I have had three bouts of chest pains so my plan is to really watch the food intake - no wheat, no grains and go back to lacto free milk.

(The chest pains have nothing to do with my heart - it's all down to stress and extreme indigestion and gastric reflux).

I am going to try the Paleo diet - a sort of mini stone age diet - the kind of foods our ancestors would have eaten. Meat, fish, eggs, fruit and veg. Basically "clean" foods -ie nothing processed and no grains. I will add a little dairy.

I tend to eat quite well and healthily but I have slipped into bad habits recently (well bad for me) in that I have been eating too much bread and too many starchy carbs. They really don't seem to suit me so I'm really going to give this a good try because I really need to address these chest pains/stomach problems.

Have any of you tried anything like this, any tips or suggestions.

Sounds like Spring has got to some of us, bathroom fabbing and bedroom fabbing.

I won't be doing anything like this just yet - not until I get my own house, so for now it's just me fabbing.

I still haven't gone clothes shopping yet. :o

    Have a good day.

    Morning all,

WW - I've found freecycle and the gumtree free pages quite good - got rid of a few items I'd have had to pay to get removed and everyone I've dealt with so far has been nice and happy to collect at a convenient time. Sounds like the decoratings off to a good start though :)

LL - *hugs* hun, sounds very stressful at the moment but completely agree that you need to try and take a step back and concentrate on you - sadly if your parents won't accept help then there's little to be done. Hope you enjoy your 'you' time today :)

Hewie - hope you're ok hun, I'm just the same, I'll cope while all the stress is happening and then when it stops it all seems to catch up and I just slump. Glad you're managing to fit in a few pampering things, try and take it easy a bit x

Well, Happy April (we're speeding through the year it seems!) and hope you all managed to have a nice Easter. Turned into a bit of a manic weekend, some friends of mine ended up coming to stay on Sunday - which meant I had to spend Saturday tidying and getting the spare room sorted. Still it was nice to see them even if it was a bit of a flying visit - and I suppose that's my April spring cleaning underway! :) Wasn't feeling too great yesterday and really didn't sleep well last night so not feeling great being back at work today. Still could be worse - OH has dentist :rotfl:
Hope everyone is having a good day x

PP- didn't sleep too well myself. My body seems to work with natural light if that doesn't sound silly and i wake up much earlier in summer. Maybe need to invest in some blackout curtains.:)

LL- i know what you mean about life getting in the way. The business planning has gone by the wayside a bit over the last week or so. I really need to step it up. I suppose I'm hesitating because I've never done anything like this before and I'm scared.:o There I've said it. I will do it. I just need to make sure I'm mentally able to cope with it all- it's my lack of confidence kicking in i suppose.:o I'll give myself a pep talk and get back on it i promise.

WW- my weight seems to have plateaued. I too have stopped noting my food intake - though I still monitor the fast days -i'm still losing but very small amounts not even a pound a week atm. Doesn't help when everyone around you s sat munching chocolate. :rotfl:

School hols so a bit of a change in routine and things start to slip, haven't managed to meditate for a few days, there's always someone in or out so it's difficult to find a quiet time. So fed up of being cold too- I know we are going to struggle to keep up with utility payments due to the cut we've seen in money. I'm just awaiting final notification of one thing and then i need to sit and sort out the finances- my yoga class may have to go :( which is a real shame it's the only time i go anywhere but i'm not sure i can justify it. Maybe I'll manage a trip out on the train with our passes soon at least that's free.
    Anyway i've rambled enough.
    Have a good day all.

Lizzie - I know what you mean - I kept waking up at exactly 5 to 7 for most of last week. No idea why that time but think it must be because of the lighter mornings. Mind you this morning I didn't want to wake up at all :rotfl:
Consider this a wee kick - get back on the business plan! :D It is scary but most worthwhile things are (trust me I know!), make a list of things you can do this week, eg think of a business name (if you haven't already), work out a pricing plan, design some flyers, think of places you can put them (eg for the dog walking could be local vets, pet shops, corner shops, post offices) where could you put online adverts - what websites would be good, could you look at local papers, community magazine, church magazines etc.
Sorry for the slight going on there. I like things like that - I'd probably have about 20 businesses going if I could only find the time :rotfl:so feel free to poke me if you think I could help with anything. I do know what you mean on the lack of confidence - it worried me a lot at the start of the photography thing, especially with weddings, but I've kind of realised that it can be a good thing as long as you can push past it. You worry because you care about doing a good job - which will mean you'll try harder than people who don't give it a second thought and people do appreciate that x

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hello all!

Hugs all round, it sounds like some of you need some TLC. I know it's difficult sometimes but try to find some "me time" and pamper yourselves xxx

I generally had a lazy Easter weekend. We managed a 10mile walk on Saturday (via a few pubs) and had a family Sunday lunch out. Not done my waistline much good but I haven't gained either :)

Finally got round to dying my hair. Nothing exciting, just to cover up all the greys. It looks and feels a lot healthier (and I look younger) now.

Hoping to take advantage of the lighter evenings and drag Hubby out for a few walks and cycle rides once he gets his bike fixed.

    Take care xxx

I know exactly what you mean - I'm constantly busy and on the go during term time and then once the marking and planning is done in the hols I'm a bit at a loss for things to do - hence the redecoration!

Been in to school this morning to do some extra tuition with some of the brightest kids - I get paid extra for this so its not all bad.

Not sure what else to do this afternoon - probably a long dog walk and a bit of spring cleaning - the house is really looking better now (although I doubt anyone else would notice!).

Diet is going well so far - yesterday was a "perfect" day cal wise and today is going ok so far. Just need to stick to it now.:o
