Nice long walk this morning, fabbed up wearing a very purple outfit today of lavender jeggings and violet top - not yet worn from the sales last year and my purple jacket mum bought me in the sale last year with grey ankle boots - hello sun, where did you go? All topped off with my pink lippy!

  • Afternoon All. Fabbing re-booted yesterday with a shower, face cleanse, tone and moisturise, hair done and perfume on.

I am heading to the gym straight from work today and have a hair cut/colour booked for tomorrow.

I didn't manage to get a food shop done yesterday as the day was so busy with family stuff so I still need to do that tonight.

Have a good time at Centre Parcs evilsquid. Zilch is good but I'm told there are lots of fabbing opportunities there too like spas and exercise. I've not been myself but DDs have. Enjoy!

we went on a spa day, was lovely and relaxing, i definitely needed it! the facial had a shoulder massage as part of it and i could feel the poor woman really having to work to get the knots in my shoulders out!
Squid I've been listening to this music all week and this song made me think of you (honestly on a non stalkerish way ;)) http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=A5ytLTEDLRE&feature=plpp
She's a fabulous singer, love her music :D

    thats a brillant song!

sent off the divorce petition on thursday, got a text on saturday morning off exOH asking what to put on the questions on the Acknowledgement of Service! couldn't believe they got it turned around that quickly. hes told me its being posted back to them today so im hoping that the turnaround for getting that back out to me so i can do the statement in support and then get the decree nisi is equally as quick!

hes sent me a letter. was going on all weekend asking if id got it yet. hes finally admitted that he knows he pressured me to be in a situation i didnt want to be in and that this was all his fault.

the rest of it was the same old dramatics he always churns out in these situations, all the "ill only love you, i cant live without you, ill get out of your life, i'll never move on, my heart will always be yours" etc etc etc. Hes done it so many times if i sat down and wrote the letter for him id probably have written nearly exactly the same as he has done!

    Life just gets better!!!

DS2 and I successfully transferred Mum to her new nursing home today despite SS phoning me to say that Mum didn't want to transfer:mad::mad:

I agree Pod - they have been manipulating her and putting words into her mouth......

Mum might be confused and easily swayed but they hadn't reckoned on yours truly. Even at the last minute they tried to make out that she was just visiting the new home and would be back for tea.

Their excuse was "It's your mother's decision" No it isn't, she has dementia - she cannot make decisions. Idiots.

On the way to the new nursing home I drove past my parents' house. She didn't even recognise it. Not a flicker. How on earth is she capable of choosing where she should live.

Meanwhile my Dad had a hospital appt. I have been begging him to take a taxi because I can't be in two places. It was he who had arranged for Mum's transfer today. I would have done the transfer on Wednesday so that I could take him to the hospital today but no he insisted she had to be moved today.

I woke up this morning with a terrible foreboding that he would have a car crash. Yep you've guessed it. He did indeed have an accident. Gawd I hate always being right.

He crashed into the side of the new nursing home, a Grade II listed building. Luckily he wasn't hurt but the car is most probably a write off and he has apparently demolished an original solid oak door. It's going to being a very expensive pay out for the insurance company.

I guess that answers the question of how much longer he can carry on driving;)

Anyway - tomorrow is another day......

Tomorrow I have a meeting with our Solicitor to sort out our wills and poa's. Once again she is very kindly visiting OH in the home so I can't possibly cancel the appt because she has scheduled her morning around us.

Dad has another hospital appt tomorrow and this time he will just have to get a taxi. Again I can't be in two places at once.

On Thursday my sister and I will attend Dad at his appt with his consultant. We should know more then just how ill Dad actually is and we can then start planning his care needs.

In all of this I am just about managing to keep a bit of personal fabbing going, cooking healthy(ish) meals and nursing my own health a bit. DS2 is being a star, keeping the house clean and acting as my chauffeur so I can conserve my energy.:D

    God love him.

LL - it never rains but it pours, does it? :( Don't even get me started on SS, our family have been disgusted by what we've seen since my grandma went people - patients been pressurised into going home when they obviously don't have adequate care in place, people being fobbed off and dismissed or patients who are obviously confused being 'nudged' into saying what the assessor wants to hear. It is disgraceful how much more keen they seem to be to tick boxes and meet targets then bother about the care of vulnerable people. Thankfully my grandma had my dad and aunt regularly 'waging war' for her and your mum has you - I really don't like to think about what happens to those poor people who don't have someone in step in their behalf when needed!
Anyway, mini rant over :o I hope your dad is ok now. Maybe an extreme way but possibly this may give him the kick to think about stopping driving? Hope things go ok on Thursday x

evilsquid - glad you managed to get a relaxing day. Think I could really do with a nice massage, definately getting major knots in my back and neck at the moment.

Anyways, not a massive amount to report. Still training the new girl - well, went through some stuff this morning and she's now off for a fag to 'recover'. :rotfl:I'm finishing here at lunchtime and off to 'check in' at my new place. Had to poke them a wee bit that I was still coming this week and she emailed me back yesterday evening to say could I come in this afternoon. I'm hoping it will work out ok, I do like that they seem quite laid back but I'm hoping it's not going to be too laid back iykwim? Anyway, we shall see and not got much else on the horizon at the moment so fingers crossed.
Finally managed to catch up with all the photo work so back on the writing now :) Am enjoying being back to get, I get a bit antsy if I have to go too long without scribbling something!
Hope everyone is having a good day x

Funny I was thinking we're so nearly there as you head into the longest day, we'll be on the shortest. Which probably goes someway to explain my mood; it all seems a bit flat at the moment.

I can't honestly see any benefits of having done all the regular facials. Twice daily cleansing, toning and moisturising is now all second nature with facepacks and other stuff a few days a week; so don't know if I was expecting miracles but i would have expected my skin to be in a lot better state than it is. Much of it I guess is hormonal and work has been getting me down but I have had a spotty face the past few days and big black circles around my eyes.

I've been thinking I probaby need to start working a bit harder on what goes on the inside and have consequently bought myself a big tub of some super duper combo of Omega / Evening Primrose and Flax Oil capsules that were advised to assist with hormonal skin problems. Also going to have to get back to drinking more water in the next phase and try to improve my diet.

    Afternoon all!
Just a quick post then will whizz through and read your news a bit later on when I have a chance to sit down.
Off swimming in about an hour - need to keep up with this as I have been challenged to a mile "swim off" - can't have a man beating me:rotfl:
Hayfever is driving me round the bend and I'm on the strongest stuff possible on prescription.
Fling is progressing well - all very good at the moment.
Weighed yesterday and am now back to my lowest ever adult weight - hurrah! Might even attempt to lose a few more lbs - 7 at the most although that's easier said than done :o

Think that's all the news - on the fabbing front need to do my nails tonight and have a bit of a face scrub etc.

    Hope everyone is ok?

Just a quicky to say "Happy Solstice Everyone"

Looks like weather-wise it's set to be a washout. Never mind nothing to be done about that.

Don't forget today is also Fab Friday - so get those gladrags on - ok skimpy tops and summer sandals may be out, more like jumpers and wellies here :rotfl:

Hope everyone is ok - you've all gone very quiet!!!!

Life is crazy mad here, my to do list is as long as my arm. Today have a meeting with SS for mum and dad's financial assessment, need to do a food shop for dad, then see my solicitor.

I'm getting a bit cheesed off to be honest:o

The good news is Dad got the all clear - the cancer is not back - just anemia. OK that's not brilliant but it's not life threatening. It's do-able with care and attention. Luckily he has a great GP. I just need to get through to him the importance of eating enough - he has to put some weight on asap.

Anyway off to start the day.....

    Have a fab solstice.

I might light my chiminea tonight if the rain holds off. A good old pagan celebration, food, wine and fire:rotfl::rotfl:

I promise not to dance naked round the flames - mustn't upset the neighbours.;)
