    Good morning everyone

Hey Skymist - long time no see - glad to have you back and well done on the decluttering marathon. The house fabbing sounds wonderful but do be careful. Pace yourself. It might be better to have a break for a couple of weeks before ploughing on with the next batch.

At almost 62 I know who difficult it is to paint and decorate now. We feel we ought to be still up to it, however, no matter how fit and active we think we are our bodies just rebel.

Before we sold our apartment in Spain I spent a couple of weeks painting all the balustrading. My poor right hand took weeks to heal.

I used to be able to paint a room in a weekend, now it's a wall a day: TBH I'm not sure I could even manage that sometimes.

My boys have said that from now on I should concentrate on just painting furniture, and then supervising them on the actual room decorating. The words tea and bacon butties were mentioned......I can manage that:rotfl:

Lizzie - Sorry to hear about your daughter. I'm going to pm you if that's ok.

Well I've had a very productive morning....

Progressing the house purchase, organising Social Services stuff for mum and dad, banking, money sorting. Lots of form filling and phone calls. Going to nip out to do a bit of shopping and then back to do some more admin stuff this afternoon. I need a secretary!!!!

Fabwise - have been trying the less bathing and industrial quantities of moisturiser on my legs and they seem a bit easier. I tried oatmeal in the bath and made up my own potion using olive oil as a carrier oil. Seems to be helping but I do miss my morning wallow in the bath.

I'm going to buy some Vit D, Vit E and glucosomine today. We are just not getting enough sun and when we do I am so flipping busy I've not had much chance to make the most of it.

Right off to peg out some washing and then hit the shops.....Nothing exciting, just groceries and a new washing up bowl.

    Oh the glamour:rotfl:

Meant to say earlier i don't bath everyday either as my skin is also very dry i'm not sure whether it helps or not, like you i'm thinking the chemicals in some products are responsible.

Best get back to my search for the wedding outfit :wall: getting really fed up with looking now :( just can't seem to find anything i like.

    oh and hi skymist :)

    Hi all,

Not stopping on so will do a proper post later but just to say lovely to see you back Sky and the house fabbing sounds great. Most admit I'm sadly in need of doing some, we have said when I finish at my job we'll have a blitz of the house and make it much more 'home working friendly'.

Lizzie - do you know what kind of thing you're after for your outfit? Maybe people might be able to make suggestions?

my acne and skin in general improved when i stopped cleansing my face in the morning and just started splashing my face with plain old water and i laid off all the face masks. that was mostly out the thinking that going from twice a day to once meant id get double the time out of my cleanser and i just didnt have the time or inclination to sit doing a face mask whereas i used to religiously do a big exfoliate and a mask weekly but having done it, i think there really is something in the thinking that if leave your body alone to get on with it and stop interfering, it really does know whats best.

my hair condition improved when i laid off Sodium lauryl sulphate and cut down the washes too.

I have been looking at maxi dresses but I'm 5' 4" and seem to fall in between the petite and normal range and very few are the right length even though I will be wearing a heel (maybe a couple of inches), I don't want a very low v neckline ( which lots seem to be) or a strapless as I don't think I'd feel comfortable. I tries a halterneck top which DD2 said looked good as it gave me the illusion of an hourglass figure but again it's not something I've ever worn for yrs so...... not sure. I feel I need a patterned fabric so as not to blend in wth the bridesmaids and though i'm not against floral I don't want old lady floral IFYSWIM. So as you can see I'm a very awkward customer.:o:o:eek:

I only use water on my face most of the time and perhaps use a facewash every other day or so. I did do the OCM a few times and do like the way my skin feels after but it is a bit time consuming so haven't done it for a while - I might try and fit one in once a week or so. I've started to use natural/organic stuff if I can afford it but tbh unless I get it for birthdays and xmas I can't really so I just try to go for those things with the least nasties possible. I only tend to wash my hair twice a week anyway as it's thick and takes an age to dry naturally which I prefer to do. Crikey I sound really unclean:eek::rotfl::rotfl:. I don't think it's necessary to bath/ shower as often as we do now and like you believe it strips your skin and now i'm getting older being dry and scaly seems to look worse than ever.

No you're not Lizzie, you are being selective in what you buy to ensure it suits both you and the occasion ;)

Have you looked in New Look for maxi dresses? I've had a few from there that are really nice and probably just about the right length for you.

    Hey ladies :)
Just a quick post to say hello to Skymist :) and to suggest to Lizzie that she looks at M&S for a maxi dress. OK they aren't cheap and cheerful but I bought a fantastic one last year, wasn't spaghetti straps or halter neck or strapless or too low cut. It did cost £50 but it was worth the money. You could try looking on eBay for a M&S maxi dress.

Ok off to walk the pooch, am fasting today so don't want to sit about a listen to my belly rumble :o

Lizzie - Wallis sometimes have nice maxi dresses. I'm 5'5 and the length is ok for me.

Well, the fling is still going strong, saw him again last night, all progressing well. Very happy :)

A night off tonight though so I can catch up on some fabbing... need to do my roots (think the sun has started to fade the colour, caught sight of it in a mirror today and though its not grey again yet its definitely a lighter shade than the rest so needs doing), sort out my nails which seem to be growing really quickly, do a face scrub and have a nice long bath and defuzz.

Just done a good 45 min fast dog walk so have had some exercise today.

Not much else to report really - hope everyone is ok. xx
