LL- think have done the right thing I think sometimes it can be the best thing to take a step back but stll be there if absolutely needed. I would try and concentrate on yourself for a while - not selfish at all- it's something I struggle with but am learning that if you don't look after yourself it can have a very bad effect both mentally and physically. Have a restful day. x

. Still haven't even told her about the work situation, think I really need to do this weekend. I just know she's going to be really negative about it and tbh I don't really need that when I'm worrying a bit myself :(

Ah well, it's Friday today so almost weekend. Hope everyone is having a good day x[/QUOTE]

I agree the new girl sounds like she's going to struggle and is aware of it. Do what's right for you that's the most important thing.
I hope it all works out for you. x

Evilsquid hope you have a great weekend x:)

Well my work efforts haven't reaped any rewards yet though what with everything I suppose that probably a good thing. Doggy is now on the mend, DD2 is at school and the painkillers are helping abit more now they are in her system (though I'd rather she didn't take them long term if possible). Time to get back on track (again!!) Haven't heard anything from the voluntary organizations I contacted which is disappointing :( but maybe I'll give it another go in acouple of weeks. I did have a slight wobble about self employment when an aquaintance was telling me how after an injury they couldn't get anything to live on whilst they were recovering but having researched it I think they were given the wrong info. It is a concern though.

I need to sort myself out over the weekend both in this area and self fabbing area as it has all slipped :o. I did receive a couple of compliments on the weight loss this week though which was nice -I didn't think anyone had noticed.

Have a good fab friday everyone x

Just to add my agreement LL.:) It seems your dad wants your help/advice as long as you agree with him! I suppose that's going to cut both ways in that now you've decided to take on a background role you'll have to accept whatever they decide. It's a difficult one but your health and wellbeing are suffering so much because of this and the other issues you're dealing with that you have to draw a halt somewhere.

Have a good time at Centre Parcs evilsquid. Zilch is good but I'm told there are lots of fabbing opportunities there too like spas and exercise. I've not been myself but DDs have. Enjoy!

Sorry the work things aren't working out yet lizzie but I know you'll keep trying. Good news about DD being well enough to go back to school and good to hear you sounding upbeat.

Pod, I'm amazed your employers are being so blind to the disaster that's about to happen when you leave. It's not your problem but interesting all the same. I'm sure you want to see your parents but now isn't a good time when you want to focus on getting your working life sorted. I'm sure you'll manage if it's not too long a visit and hopefully they'll be supportive when you explain.

I followed the discussion about showering/hairwashing the other day. I generally go for every other day as a pattern with a good wash in between. Exceptions obviously if I get very messy or sticky in hot weather (what's that???;)). My problem is that my hair is such high maintenance. It is hugely affected by any dampness so if I have a shower/bath I have to wash my hair. Shower caps just don't help. If I wash my hair every day it gets incredibly dry. I don't use cheap products (currently John Frieda) but perhaps I need to think about something else. The trouble is if my hair's too soft it's floppy and unmanageable. We're never satisfied!

Off on holiday next week and have booked an eyebrow wax, manicure and pedicure in before then. Otherwise not a huge amount to say on fabbing front except that I'm still eating healthily and keeping to my target weight so all my holiday clothes fit!!

    Love to all.:A

Just a quick dash by, been a busy week for some reason.

Pod and Lizzie hugs and positive vibes for you both regarding work, I am sure your perfect empmployment is out there, keep going ladies xx

LL I concur, you'll be no good to anyone if you end up ill through stress. You can't be everything for everybody and if you don't put your needs first you're gonna end up in hospital xx

Squid I've been listening to this music all week and this song made me think of you (honestly on a non stalkerish way ;)) http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=A5ytLTEDLRE&feature=plpp
She's a fabulous singer, love her music :D

Maman I wash my hair every day and ergo shower every day. My hair isn't possible to revive having slept on it and given i am natural blonde my roots darken and it just feels minging if its not washed :o I don't use loads of shower gels etc. I was using an expensive shampoo for blonde hair and it ruined it. I never assume expensive products = better anymore :(

Not much to report here. Went shopping for "something for the weekend" ;) as it our wedding anniversary next weds. Needless to say have come to conclusion I look better with clothes on and self esteem has hit the floor :(:o oh well new day tomorrow.

Have a great weekend, I've spent all week dodging (and not dodging) some heavy rain showers. Most frustrating when I've got cute summer dresses and top I want to wear

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hello all,

I haven't posted in a while mainly as I have been feeling far more frump than fabulous.

Firstly, I've only read the past few pages but some of you sound like you need *big hugs* (I won't use the pervy emoticin for big hugs on here :rotfl:) Take care and look after yourselves xxx

After my lovely, relaxing holiday I gained 3lbs though it's felt like 3 stone! Only managed to lose 2 of those so far and my aim of losing 2stone before my holiday in September seem impossible. This month is also the birthday/anniversary month with 6 birthdays (including my 40th and Hubby's 40th at the very beginning of July) 2 anniversaries and a family get together for fathers day! We went away for my birthday, we're going away for our anniversary and have a weekend away booked to Newcastle at the end of the month followed by a joint 40th do the first weekend in July - there's no hope for my waistline :D

Loving being 40 though, I think I must be the only person I know who was excited by turning 40. I feel more settled in life now - out of debt and financially more savvy, happily married, good job and two of the best friends a girl could ask for.

Even better was that most people at work couldn't believe I was actually that old :D

Exercise has gone out of the window, alcohol intake has increased (mainly to all the socialising) but the warmer weather makes it easier to eat less stodge/more salads. I think my healthy eating all week is preventing the over-indulgent weekends from doing too much damage.

Don't think I'm going to see a huge change in my fabulousness by the summer solstice but I'm going to keep in touch with this thread daily. The last time I read I think Podperson was contemplating what to do as work wouldn't reduce her hours. I'm so behind:eek:

A very up and down week for me this week and I'm very glad it's the weekend.

Saw the Dr yesterday as chest still not right and on a course of steroids now to see if they work so its another weekemd off exercising. Will be walking lots and dodging those showers.

As there is a week to go until the Solstice I decided to up my fabbing today abd do the fab job I've put off for a long time - bikini line defuzz. Also pretreated hair, exfoliated and facemasked, nails all neat and tidy and that strengthener I'ved had for years seems to be doing it's job now I'm using it!

Jobs for today are the usual weekend chores and study - woo!

Happy weekend everyone and task for today is do one little thing of fabulousnes for yourself - go on, give it a try, won't take long!

    Morning all!
Hope we're all well and avoiding the rain?
Just back from a longish dog walk while the sun was shining, it will rain again later though.

Out tonight with The Fling for a night on the town - its a dressed up type of night so will be wearing the dress I bought ages ago but haven't worn yet - its a wine satin off the shoulder type of thing, quite glam. Tried it on this morning and it still fits thankfully. Might pop out to look for some new shoes to go with it - I have some that would do but new shoes would be nice!

Other jobs for today include shopping, cleaning and general chores - the usual Saturday excitement.:p
Will spend a bit of time later doing a defuzz, nails etc mking sure I'm presentable, want to be as fab as possible :)

Hope everyone has a good day...xx
  • Morning All
Its got to that time of year where I am really needing my holidays and am so tired that I can hardly speak in a coherent sentence. I have had such a busy weekend with family stuff and I really need to find some time to work on school stuff!!

Over the past couple of weeks I have chosen the extra 10 mins in bed each morning rather than spend time doing my cleanse, tone, moisturise routine!! Diet is awful as I can't be bothered cooking and exercise is down to zero.

Ironically this is probably the time when I need to be fabbing most - if my diet and exercise were better I would probably feel as if I had more energy. So I am going to do a food plan and shop for it today and go for a swim this evening. I am just heading for a shower and will do a full cleanse, exfoliate and moisturise on my face too.

Don't worry Allie - it's just one of those things. "Life" has a habit of getting in the way sometimes.

Just start again. Same here with the tiredness I'm afraid. I'm just about done for.

    Anyway Good Morning Ladies

This is just a quickie to say hi and thanks for all your good vibes - I knew I could count on you f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s lot for a bit of moral support.

Things are still manic so sorry not much time this morning to stop and chat.

Had a lovely evening with my boys on Friday. Met the Vendors - very nice people. Learned all about the house - got all our questions answered.

Then my lovely boys took me out to a posh trendy pub where all the cool fashionable folk hang out - ooh get me- for a lovely meal.

Yesterday I took it easy and just caught up with myself. Today I'm popping over to see OH and hopefully a bit of gardening now that the sun has decided to show itself. Going to repot my Christmas tree. I can't believe how much it has grown.

Next week it all kicks off again.

DS2 is having a few days off work. Tomorrow he will help me transfer mum to her new nursing home (yes I did win that battle in the end:rotfl:)

I do have to do a few bits and pieces with Dad next week but DS2 and I are going to make the most of his week off - we are planning a house hunting marathon. DS1 is sorted so now it's time for DS2 and I to see if there is anything out there with our name/s on them.

Fabbing is the basics as usual so not too bad on that front. Still no clothes shopping but given the changeable weather I'm not that bothered about new clothes.

DS2 did actually get round to buying some new clothes but then he is "interested" in a girl (Just a friend Mum). She's lovely......

DS1 and girls?? No chance - he's still too busy being a bloke.:D God love him.

Hope you are all well. Keeeeep fabbing.

I have read all your posts and I did actually write yesterday and addressed you all individually but lost the blasted post.

So today I will be brief and say Hi Fives and Hugs.

    Have a Fab Sunday.

Just realised we are nearly at the Solstice.

Where has the time gone. :rotfl:

    Afternoon all!
Allie - we all have times when it just goes to pot! Just do what LL says and start again, some small effort is better than nothing at all.

LL - good news on the house front, you can tell you're really enjoying the whole process. Hope you get to have a bit of time to relax too!

Had a fab night out last night - all dressed up in a swanky bar drinking wine and cocktails with the Fling then home for a bit of "together" time...;)
Am a teeny bit hungover and tired but will labour on for the day - at least I'm not an examiners meeting all day like him:rotfl:

Have managed an hour in the park with the dog, a load of washing, a whizz round tescos and mowing the front lawn and a general garden tidy while its still dry.

Ended up buying two pairs of shoes yesterday - I just fell in love with one pair in Nine West - ridiculously expensive (but reduced a bit in the sale) black strappy killer heels. I just had to have them, went back to the shop twice and tried to talk myself out of them but failed. Wore them last night and even he commented on them, said they were sexy (me!!:rotfl:).
No more splurging this month now....

Going to do a spot of DIY this afternoon and go for a nice long walk to get a bit of fresh air then its a flop on the sofa with a movie later.

Allie - 5 more weeks to the big holiday....

    Hi all,

Just a quick one today but-
LL - glad you won the nursing home battle, sounds like a busy week coming up, hope all the house bits go well.
WW - I think some killer heels are sometimes a necessity :rotfl:Glad you're having fun x

Had a bit of a slack-off day yesterday and just spent most of the day with OH and a few beers. Probably needed but must get on with some work today now! Been rubbish again with the fabbing so back on it today - no excuses! Also we're been asked to a party back home, it's OH's dad birthday and the golf club they go to is having a 'summer ball' on the same weekend so all the family are going along to that. It's 5 weeks this weekend so thinking would be nice to lose a few pounds by then and gives me a fairly short term goal to work towards. It's also a 'Carribean' theme so if anyone has ideas for what on earth I can wear then please share them! I'm definately not going as far as a grass skirt :rotfl:I think his mum is wearing a hawaian shirt but that's not very me. Think maybe a mooch round the charity shops may be in order.
Hope everone is having a good day x
