    Hi all,

Well, no excuse Tuesday sounds like a plan I think if I can jump on the bandwagon? :) Have definately been slipping badly lately, healthy eating has gone to pot and been doing little to no exercise. Thankfully I don't have a working scales at the moment but waistbands are getting tighter so something must be done! Have been feeling a little unmotivated this week, OH has been given some pills for his anxiety etc but they're making him feel pretty cacky and not wanting to do much - am trying to work round him but the mood is rubbing off a bit I think.
In better news though have an interview tomorrow morning. Not an amazing job and fewer hours than I really want but will still go, if I have something confirmed will start to feel better about leaving my current one I think. At the moment I'm trying to concentrate on the fact I do really want to go but it's hard to get past the 'eek, what will I do then?' panic at the moment. :o

    Good morning everyone

OK No Excuses Tuesday it is.

Hewie - liking the sound of "Operation get your life back on track". This is definitely what I need to do.

    So starting today.....

Yesterday afternoon was OH's assessment. Nightmare. Another 3 hour marathon and after all that the lady said OH's case was "borderline" and although I believe her when she said that she would do everything she could on his behalf, I agree with her it's looking very doubtful,

The problem is because his condition is so rare and unpredictable and unstable he doesn't fit all the "criteria", ie you can't just tick a load of boxes.

As she said you only have to see him to realise that it is blindingly obvious he needs much more input than he is receiving - but the forms don't bl**dy fit!!!!

I found myself getting angry and upset, my tummy began to churn. By the time I got home I was shivering and shaking, my tummy was in knots. I tried to eat and ended up with a full blown stress attack - chest pains, sweating, shivering the lot.
Poor DS2 was visibly shaken at the state I was in.

Oddly enough I slept surprising well but today I'm going to take it very steady and just nurse myself along.

One thing is for sure - something has to give. One of these days one of my stress attacks is going to cause real damage and lead to a heart attack if I'm not careful. .

If I am to stand a fighting chance I reckon I need to lose a minimum of 2 stones, preferably 3, I definitely need to lose inches off my waist. Apparently carrying excess weight around the waistline is dangerous, a precursor to heart disease and diabetes.

The problem is stress produces the stress hormone cortisol which makes fat accumulate around the waist......Catch 22.

So ladies - a mountain to climb. Not only to lose some weight but to try and get the stress levels down again.

I'm going to have a rethink about my life, reduce my visits to OH for a little while, get more rest and make sure I build some exercise into my daily routines. I'm going to try some gentle yoga today.

I'm going to tell my parents and they are going to have to understand I cannot cope with their demands. Dad has been phoning me constantly, whinging and moaning and piling on the guilt.

Time to take a stand I think.

Sorry this is all a bit me, me, me today....:o Normal service will be resumed.;)

Pod - good luck with the interview. At least if you get a few hours work it will give you a base to work from. You might find something else yet anyway. If not at least you will have something coming in whilst you build up your other incomes.

Oddly enough although I am not exactly rich beyond my wildest dreams at least the worst of my money worries are now over.

Sorry to hear your OH is still struggling. That's the problem with anxiety pills and anti-d's - they can make you feel pretty rough.

Right time to start the day. The sun is shining so not all bad., might have a little potter in the garden if it's warm enough.

    Have a good day.

    Good morning ladies :D

I need No Excuses Tuesday not for food and exercise etc just from all the stuff I am trying to sort out. Would really like to hibernate until all this house moving is over but oh well........making appointments left right and centre, which with my brain is a recipe for disaster :o

Anyway it's a fast day for me today, doing OK so far. Going to have my soup in a bit and then off to forest school with my DD and her class this afternoon. Lots going on to keep me occupied.

WW hope no excuses Tuesday is going well for you x

Hewie hugs and good luck with getting life back in track, you can do it xx

His missus well done on 3lb weight loss and the running :T

Sparkles enjoy your ironing and exercise ;)

Pod good luck with the job interview. Sorry to hear OH is struggling with his anxiety. I guess maybe his body is getting used to the medication xx

LL hugs for you. I know your an NLP fan, not sure how you feel about Paul McKenne but have you tried his Havening technique for managing the stress you're having to deal with? Might help maybe as the stress of things with your OH isn't sadly going to disappear. Link to a video is here

Hugs and high fives all round :)

    Hi All,

Hugs LL, life can be a real B! sometimes xx

Definitely enjoying all the compliments about my new hairdo, even the miserable cleaner at work smiled and complimented me genuinely too, not in his usual sarcastic tone :D

Despite the small weight loss my tummy's looking a bit rounder, I think I need to look up some stomach crunching exercises.

Chickened out of our run this morning as it was bucketing down with rain but I did jig about to music as I did the ironing :rotfl:

    Hi all,

LL - I'm sorry it wasn't better news from OH's assessment :( Hope you're feeling a little better physically at least today, completely agree with trying to take a bit of a step back before it makes you seriously ill x

Bitsy - forgot to say big congrats on the house! Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly and it can do through nice and quick so you can get your family all back together again :) I think that's exactly it with the medication, his body is adjusting to it, but he is feeling really awful under them at the moment. The drs told him to try them and go back in two weeks so will see how it goes but been nearly a week now and I thought there would have been some improvement but still feels rubbish on them.

Thanks for the well wishes on the interview :) It seemed to go ok but I can never tell with these things! Like I said is less hours than I want, only 10ish at the moment, they're looking for someone to come in for about 2 hours each morning. So I would definately need something else with it and they're wanting someone to start asap, possibly next week, so not sure how my current job would be with that. I suppose I could still go in in the afternoons. Anyway, I'll try not to worry about that when I don't even know if I'll get it. Have applied for lots of other ones so fingers crossed!
Think am going to go to Asda on the way home tonight and try and get stocked up on some healthy foods.

LL big hugs :) hope everything sorts it's self out but I agree a little me time to relax will do you good.

As for micro dermabrasion treatment I have never paid more than £35, is there a local college that does beauty treatments you could go to. Also check local 'deal' websites for salons doing offers.

£98 sounds outrageous to me- London or luxury spa prices it can be done cheaper.

How did No Excuse Tuesday go?

Mine was quite good (although its not bedtime yet!).....

I've managed really good food including 7 portions of F&V, no chocolate, plenty of water and a good walk with the dog (as well as the shorter ones) and a 20 min jog. Not loads of exercise but a start all the same.
I'll expect to have lost half a stone by tomorrow :rotfl:

I've also had some encouraging news from work - a probable promotion in Sept (will have to have an interview first but have been told it may well be a formality but I'm not counting my chickens just yet). I've also been put on the new accelerated leadership program (without asking!)

On the fabbing front, have taken the chipped nail varnish off, had a bath and moisturised. I used the new make up today too - it stayed on all day, a bonus for me!
