How cold is it!!!! We had a teeny bit of snow in Manchester this morning but it didn't stick and its just freezing, really windy and grey now. The weather has gone mad.
LL - hope things are bearable for you. Its a very tough time for your family at the moment. Thankfully you have your boys.
Good to see the newcomers - welcome to our merry band
Its the weekend now for me and I'm looking forward to a bit of a rest - I have my mum's dog staying with me whilst they are sunning it in Tenerife (lucky things) so will be doing double dog walking, driving two dogs is quite tricky when they decide to get all tangled up.:p
I've booked a few things with Spice for the easter hols that begin next Thursday. Need to get out and about so I don't end up doing loads of schoolwork and not having a break.
I'll have a think about some goals for the next few months - will be back later.0 -
Thanks for the welcome. I've had a busy day but plenty of fabbing (prebooked which was handy). I've been to the hairdressers this afternoon to have my highlights, cut and blow dry and my eyelashes and eyebrows done. I decided my New Year's Resolution this year was to spend a bit more on my hair and keep it looking good, rather than waiting a long time between appointments to save money. So now I go about every six weeks.
I also went to an exercise class this morning for an hour - again a regular occurrence, although it has now finished for Easter. I also got asked into work by my son unexpectedly for a couple of hours so have been able to avoid food temptation all day and thus start my new eating regime off well.
I wrote out my goals for this next 12 weeks (or however long it is) and they are as follows.
Get back down to under 9 stone by healthy eating and cutting out snacks.
Run a 10K in a shorter time than I did it last year (which was 67 minutes)
Make sure everything I wear fits well and is flattering - so a grand wardrobe sort out is planned for tomorrow.
Spend less time on the computer and more time on crafts, social activities and house fabbing.
I look forwards to hearing everyone else's goals.Weight Loss Challenge 5/7/19 10st 6lbs

Wow, woke up to a winter wonderland this morning and it's still snowing!
Looks like today will be a day at home, catching up on the usual weekend tasks along with some exercise and some fabbing up of me - facemask, nails to tidy up and paint and maybe watch a film

You need to upload them to a website like Flickr or Photobucket.
From there you should be able to copy and paste them into a reply.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

WARNING RAMBLING POST ALERT!!
Hi all, I started posting way back in Novemberish time on here. Then life got in the way...
Mum was taken very ill in early January and stayed in hospital for about 10 weeks. It was pretty serious with her being on intensive care and in an induced coma for about 5 weeks, it was a very very tough time for the family and in all honesty I don't know how we managed to keep it together... through this my partner was.. shall we say less than supportive and was preoccupied.. (bad habbits not other ladies) so I made the tough decision to move on my life without him.
The recent goings on have given me a fresh impetus to look at my life and make some changes.
My job is pretty demanding and takes over a huge part of my life so I am trying to remain positive and not get bogged down with that/ work place politics ( groan) However I realise I am very lucky to have a good job in the field that I trained for... sometimes it's easy to let the little niggles get you down..
So mum is home and almost back to normal, I'm just approaching 2 weeks off work, I am newly single although a possible scenario bubbling under the surface- what better time to restart the fabbing?!
Fabbing on the agenda today-
off to buy some supplies as I am having my bathroom tiles fabbed in a few weeks.
gyming - I am totally at the stage where I have talked myself out of doing anything in the evenings after work, I'm gonna have to go through the horrible phase of forcing myself against my will until I start to actually want to!
meeting a friend for a coffee later.
food shop- hopefully lots of fresh lovely foods to cook and enjoy over the coming week.
It feels good to be back!
Sorry to see some of you are having tough times. That's the lovely thing about this thread that made me know i'd be coming back- the support everyone gives each other is priceless!

Morning all!
Its still yukky weather here - not the snow that many of you have had but freezing cold and wet and windy. Not nice dog walking weather.:(
I've been thinking about the next set of goals for this solstice (when does it end again?).
I'm not having a massive set of things to strive for this time just a small wish list to work towards.
So here goes.....- Lose 5 lbs and stay there to get me to my lowest weight for the summer
- Get back in to running - its slipped a bit over the winter and once this awful weather has gone I realy have no excuse
- Register for and complete the Great Swim - a mile open water swim - I can do the distance comfortably in a pool now but need to be able to do it in a lake in a wet suit  in a good time
- Start building a spring/summer wardrobe that suits me - I'm 41 and don't want to look like a sad 20 year old wannabe but also not like my mum. Its a tricky one.
- Save for and go on a holiday
- Make sure I keep up with the social activities and try something new
I've just weighed and have somehow lost 1lb this week - not sure how but my period started a week early so maybe its bloat that has drained away, whatever it was its a lb closer to my target.
My hair need dyeing too - I'll do it myself this time as its only a month since I had my hair cut so I'll need to buy some dye this weekend. I also nee dto do some exercise today - not outdoors stuff apart from dogwalking, the weather is just horrible. Along with the usual weekend chores of shopping and cleaning that should keep me busy for a lot of the day.
Any tips on the clothes quandry would be welcome! How do I look youngish and stylish without looking like one of the kids I teach or a complete saddo? I wear suits for work so that's easy - its the rest of the time that I need to think about. I don't think I look that bad just wondered what everyone else thinks? There's always room for improvement0 -
Teacher2b - welcome back! Good to hear your mum is on the mend, must have been an awful time for you. And good for you deciding to move on from your relationship. Onwards and upwards!0

WW- how are you at accessorising? Plain t shirts and well cut jeans with lovely colourful scarves/ necklaces/ chunky bangles? I have 2 Gok books and he's big on not promoting what's fashionable but the colours/ cuts/ fabrics that suit you. It's a good start whilst you hunt around for some new clothes bits. Where are your favourite clothes shops?[STRIKE]7lbs to lose [/STRIKE]
