    Hi all

Thanks again Bitsy for starting the thread off.

Well, we have a new addition to the Hewie household, she is a ten week old lab x collie and is totally adorable while being totally and untterly mad, we've had her a week and she is starting to settle in very well.

I have found out recently that I have to have an opp in the next couple of months and it will mean having to totally rest up for at least 4-6 weeks after and then slowly start to get back to normal.

On that note I will not be making any goals for this 3 months other than to lose as much weight as I can so that I can be a little healthier for the opp. From now until the opp I am not allowed to do any exercise other than walking. The opp involves decompression of the upper spine, bascially my brain is too big for my head and this causes spasms, dizziness and lots of other symptoms, but if I don't have the opp then things will get progressivly worse and could end up with paraylis. Quite scary really.

Today would have been my mums 60th birthday, so its been a day spent reflecting and remembering, as my hubby said shes having cake and fun with her dad looking down on us thinking how mad we are to get a puppy.

Hope everyone is doing well and not getting too depressed with the weather.

I will prob not post too much, but I do read most days and keep upto date with everyones progress. So thanks for all the support you have given over the past 6 horrible months it was muchly appreciated.

    Take care all Hewie xx

Hewie - a new puppy??? How brilliant! Post some photos please? I'm not bothered about babies but puppies......

Thanks Bitsy for the new thread - much appreciated.

I'm really tired and so won't do a big post now (flipping parents evening again ) - also had a run in with a bloke at work and was left fuming but have almost moved on from it (but not quite....I am a woman with a "won't back down and be bullied by men" kind of attitude ;)).

I'll be back tomorrow with some plans....:)

    Morning all!

Hope you don't mind a newbie sneaking in - I lurked a bit on the last thread and loved the sound of it, so am taking the plunge and pledging some goals!

Diet: Has slowly got worse and worse over the winter, I always find it easier to eat healthy in the summer. So - no fad diets, but healthy eating, no snacking and religious use of MFP. Aim is to get back down to 9st by May - will need to weigh myself later to see whether that is achievable!

Skin/pampering: use moisturiser. At least 5 times a week, I suffer from horrible flaky legs sometimes in the summer and hate wearing skirts, so if I start now hopefully it will have had some effect by skirt weather! I also have shedloads of moisturiser so this will go some way towards my declutter!

Appearance: Start taking an interest! I rarely wear make up, despite loving it and having loads of it, so will start with a simple swipe of mascara daily. I also desperately need some new clothes, so once some of the weight's dropped off I will treat myself to a few new bits and pieces.

Mental: Be. More. Positive! I need to socialise more, which doesn't need to cost money, and spend more time with my friends and OH that isn't just slumped in front of the TV.

OK - I feel energised! Off to moisturise and pop on a swipe of mascara ready for work.

Good morning all. Welcome to our newbies, lovely to have you aboard. Rose :T:T on the weight loss - that is some achievement.

Skymist - sorry to hear about your allergies. I hope you manage to sort something out soon. It must be very difficult for you. I have a few but nothing as bad as yours. Mine are mainly environmental which I can control. My wheat thing is more in the way of an intolerance than a full blown allergy so isn't nearly so problematic. I just have to cut down not avoid it completely. Would an allergy clinic be of help.

Snowing here and I have got back to back appts today, solicitors,a house viewing and a meeting with a broker. Curling up with a good book would be the preferred option.

Maybe this is winter's last hurrah, let's hope so - I've had enough!!!

    Punxatawny Phil :rotfl::rotfl: Nice one.

    Fab Friday today.

Can I manage Dr Zhivago Glamour today - doubt it - more like Nanouk of the North.;)

At least one thing - I'll get DS2 to be my chaffueur today, my right arm hurts like billy-oh and my back is still playing up. I'm finding driving a bit of a problem at the moment.

I'm really struggling with aches and pains at the moment, partly stress of course but the weather really doesn't help.

I had a full blown stress attack on Tuesday night - after a traumatic afternoon with my parents. I have at least managed to get them to agree to increasing their care package so have contacted social services to get the ball rolling.

It is so wearing - both of my parents ended up in tears.

Then, just when I think I have got through to them and got some kind of consensus about what help with will accept, the next thing I know they are asking my poor sister if they can go and live with her.

My sister is so torn. She knows that it is wildly impractical and in no-ones best interest and yet she is made to suffer tremendous guilt. It's little short of emotional blackmail.

I am at the end of my tether with them. Without being horrible I have more than enough on my plate with my poor OH. He is now more or less semi paralysed, incontinent, can barely whisper and when he does he is virtually incoherent, he can barely swallow. Dear God when will it be over.

In the immortal words of Eric & Ernie "Bring me sunshine" - pretty please.

    Hello. Remember me? :rotfl:

Every year, for the last few years, I've said that "this is the year of me". I've said it so often that I'm sure people are sick of hearing it. But something always goes wrong and I end up spending my me time and me money on something else. This year I didn't say it, or attempt it. And it's actually happening :rotfl:

I saved and saved for the dentist, knowing that if I had the work done in dribs and drabs then I'd stop going. I HAD to get it all done in one go (well, not one visit, lol, but you know what I mean!). Once I had the money, I realised I was terrified - I'm not scared of anything so was a bit shocked at myself :D Spent a couple of weeks building myself up to filling in a medical history form and making an appointment. Got there and found out I was an NHS patient!!!! So I have some spare savings :D Am part way through treatment atm. Have lost a stone in about three weeks - it's fake though, it's because I couldn't eat properly before I even went to the dentist. I'll probably put it back on once my mouth is sorted out.

If I see even an ounce of sympathy regarding dentists, I'll be out of here :D Sympathy makes me feel even worse.

Nice to see you Tru :D:D glad your getting your dental work done and excellent news about being able to have some savings come out of it :)

LL sorry to hear about your OH :( he seems to have gone deteriorated quite quickly lately. Can only imagine how it must feel to see him this way, sending you lots of hugs. As for your parents if your sister cannot house them they are going to have to accept more outside assistance. I appreciate this is not quite that simple xxx did smile about Nanouk of the north :rotfl:

    Kip welcome :)

Life is certainly tough for some of us right now and it feels so hard when life is like that. I know how it feels from another episode of my life. I hope life improves in whatever way you want it to.

I'm certainly glad to be home from work safely after the snow arrived again. Happy its the weekend and the start of my week off. Will be writing some days to make a start on section 1 of the dissertation.

Will be having a quiet weekend in looking at the weather for tomorrow catching up on the usual cleaning, cooking, reading and writing then make some plans for the week ahead.

    Keep warm everyone!
