WE have the back from hols lots of stuff to do feeling :(

This includes seeing if Gazebo can be saved - was there a storm in inner-herts last week?

As I may have mentioned before they could film one of those extreme hoarding shows here - I really hope that DH and the DKs might be abel to get stuck into this during the hols, I may have to introduce some 'nudge' type incentives for all broken toys and grown out of clothes and shoes to be recycled.

We appear to be the most hated people in town due to our little property development idea. I jokingly said this to my parents, DKs who overheard are now very worried, I think they half expected to get back to the house burned to the ground, I don't think they realiased it just means I will never become a member of the local cricket club...
    I think....

NDG: don't worry. start a new thread when it's almost time and we can just go over this one if you aren't around when it's hit the 10k. it's a suggestion, some threads on mse are much much much longer

Lir, forgive me for asking but do you have a Blue Badge? It strikes me as one of those times that having one could make things easier for you.

    No. Dithering.

    Have dithered here about it.

I don't think I meet the criteria. I think it said when I checked 'cannot walk 50 or 100 metres'. I can do that. I do more than that every single day. Its just doing that to do the animals might be all I do. E.g. On a bad day I might do that animals then do literally nothing else. On a good day I might do light work (like house work or gardening) most of the day with regular rests...so pottering.

Edit...there are also degrees of 'can'. People who I know who have blue badges in the area and are more mobile than I am so I feel maybe I am being too stoic. Then even on days when I feel I really cannot manage the walk out to the yard I do manage. I bet if a crocodile appeared behind me I'd manage even faster too.....its hard to gauge 'able' on that sort of basis. Would it make my life easier, sure. But it would make everyone's life easier, especially busier people.

I'm going back and forward on this a lot. I think I feel if I get the blue badge now I will have lost a bit of a battle with myself but if I don't I might lose another one, does that make sense?

I have to do stuff. And as you can see, I am on here:(

I may be reduced to doing a list and reporting on my progress as I cannot be trusted to motivate myself. The paper list on the kitchen table is having no effect whatsoever.
Do not read beyond this point, unless in need of something to get you off to sleep.
    So far:
Have walked the dog (not on list but most important):)
A whites wash done and hung on line:)

    To do
    Hoover throughout
    Polish
    Clean kitchen
Clean bathroom (will delegate to DD)
Shop for dinners Sat - Weds
    Ironing
Sort packing for long weekend - hand luggage only
    Cook chicken casserole for tonight
Walk dog again (will delegate to DD)
    Make Beautician appt
    More washing
Confirm visitors for tomorrow and Weds.

There are other things to do - wash out chicken houses and weed veg patch but they are not even making it to the list.

Got some laundry done . But have uprooted the rotary drying line (with its spike stuck to the bottom) to mow the lawn and now can't find where to put it back in. The ground's as dry as a bone which doesn't help!:(

Probably - there were random spot-storms of biblical proportions across many parts of the country.

Crikey PN, we're at 4TB of stored data and rising.

    How do you cope?
Slowly. I'm technically crippled by a combination of factors. I don't want to be sorting things out, getting settled, getting new kit until I'm ..... "in my new house" - and I've not even seen one to view yet.

I think I have now decided this: A garage is important to me; the look of a house is important to me. Because of these two factors I will not find a house in the area/s I am looking, for the limited budget I have.

Therefore, I have to go inland to get: a garage, a house that looks like I want a house to look like.

I can have mid-terrace with allocated parking in my search areas; or shabby 1900s mid-terraced house in a dodgy looking area with allocated parking. But garages seem to be not feasible.

So, this week I will look at "houses I like the look of, that have a garage and conservatory and utility" up to 5 miles inland.

I had one of those once, but could never get the tube far enough into the ground - it was always proud by 1".

When I get a house, I will have two tubes: one well out of the way, in case I want to sit down without sheets flapping in my face -and- one close to the house for when I just want to pop out and put the washing close by. Not that any garden will be large - probably 20' long tops I'd imagine.... but it's important to think of [1] slot that's close/easy [2] slot that's out of the way if you're sitting outside.

Oh MissK! I can't imagine you not being full of energy.

Nikki, I'm so pleased that you are making good progress. Well done!

Yesterday, I got a new case in. So, I sat outside in the sun, drinking cups of tea and reading every one of the 500 pages. I now can't see the original file for the post-it notes stuck all over it.

The point of this long story is that maybe you two would benefit from working outside for a bit, weather permitting?

:o I think being weary of life in general (work issues) not helping me to be full of beans!

It's a little too breezy to be outside here today. :p

I wouldn't bother - British garages stayed imperial when the car-making world went metric so the one doesn't fit inside the other

    Not quite. More like practising.
