    Hey all!
Back from a holiday in sunny weymouth! Bizzarely, I pre-empted NDG's post:
I wondered, because I know that the two other children who live in our block of flats don't break up until a week on Friday. If this nice weather continues, and as Sam's having a week off starting on Thursday, I was thinking of taking Isaac to Kent for a few days, and perhaps going to Camber Sands or Greatstone. Which would be less crowded if the other little darlings are all still incacerated in their places of learning (-:

Great time. Very sunny. Sea very clam the first 3 days - you could go for a swim & there were decent sized fish swimming near you in the sea!

It seems my trusted watererer did a decent job, as when I looked last night at 1.00am, nothing appeared dead!

Can anyone summarize the past week? I'll never have the chance to read a whole weeks witterings!
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

Just like 'normal' watches do if worn on the left hand?

I wear a watch on my right arm. Always have.

One solution could be to purchase a pocket watch. I got one last christmas & love it! Wanted one for years.

I don't wear any jewelry. Don't own any. Never had cufflinks etc. Can't stand things around my neck. Not keen on rings (though I think if I married I'd want a wedding ring). Ears not pierced, but did used to have a ring in my eyebrow.

I have long suspected the BBC of being institutionally leftist and I now have research to back this up. I have scanned the headlines in recent days for terms relevant to the three main parties and 'labour' crops up much more frequently than 'conservative' or 'tory' or 'lib dem'...
    I think....

    Snap, 80 out of a 100!

The guy that provides our uniforms operates from Cannock, I can just about understand him!

Does that mean we can understand 8 out of 10 words that you may utter?:D

I loved some of those. Put wood in the hole, indeed! :)
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

We never had to take scissors to school - and I'm surprised that any school would have kids wandering about the streets and on public transport with scissors... what if they RUN????

They don't carry them about loose - they're in their pencil cases inside their school bags (at secondary school).
Poor cow - I remember it being irritating when I was a few days overdue and people kept asking me what was happening - I wanted to shout "NOTHING. OBVIOUSLY. BECAUSE I STILL LOOK LIKE A BEACHED WHALE". Must be far more frustrating for her.

I got LNE to make me a badge to wear reading "No, it hasn't come yet - please talk to me about something else". It worked too - people would read it, laugh, and move on to a new topic. :)
I typed that first, then amended my post as I thought saying that might start a bit of a ruck :)

But yes. Cleansing from the filth in God's eyes that is childbirth.

I dunno. I guess it ends up seeming that way. But we all began this conversation happy to acknowledge that it's a good idea to keep the mother & baby separate from the general populace for a little while "to keep germs at bay" - both from population to mum/baby and the other way round. I don't think either the ancient Jewish or mediaeval Christian post-birth rituals are really very different from our modern idea that midwives should wear gloves - maybe future generations will look back and condemn us for regarding the new mother as too filthy for the midwife to touch with bare hands?
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)
