If PN could expand her jewellery making skills to include watch refurbishment and repair we could all make a fortune.
(I stay away from Rolex and newer Omega as the market is flooded with really good fakes.)
I have to be diplomatic here- a rubbish fake is clearly a problem (God help us if the glass side was facing your wrist/ the numbers were in binary./pained on in invisible ink/ it told French revolutionary metric time with 10 hours and 100 minutes etc.) but if it was a really good fake, and someone hasn't the correct money;sense ratio to know the difference, the big problem with such a really good fake would be..........?There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Maybe it looks really convincing when new but then rapidly starts to tarnish (despite claiming to be made of a metal that doesn't), or bits fall off it, or it claims to be waterproof but isn't, or something.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Buying it online and then realising you couldn't resell.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Fair enough but they sound like required attributes of an adequate watch not some mortgage-rivalling hyperwatch.
We don't want to trivialise a tragedy like the fake food ingredients killing children in India; but if you're prepared to spend thousands on a(n imported) watch in a world where some people live in sewage pipes, we might wonder if fools and their money may be heading for a well-deserved parting of the ways. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Fair enough. There's loads of threads on this forum which show where buying online could end up in this situation.

Has had one quick lesson, with a right-handed guitar playing left handed, picked it up quite well though a bit unweildy. What's the best way to go. Learn right handed? Buy left handed guitar? Play a right handed guitar left handed? I've never played a guitar so no clue here.
I learnt from a right handed teacher, I just tipped my guitar upside down and reversed everything!
Good thing I did...middle son now uses my old guitar and because I just tipped it upside down, no restringing needed.
Mind you, I am weird and can do things like that and make it seem normal, so maybe not the best person to comment :rotfl:We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

pick up a second hand left hand guitar
you can't play a right hand guitar the wrong way (too difficult to tune)
Oh yes you can! Well, if like me, you are a bit weird and odd.We made it! A hundred quid for a pair of knackered shoes...? I'm clearly missing something. Is that like Gentlemen buying 2nd hand lady underpants?HAMISH_MCTAVISH wrote: »Yes, it's exactly what you think it is.
What's even worse, is that I read there's a specialist sub-set which involves shoes that have been used by ladies to crush bugs. Which reach exorbitant money if the video of the bug crushing is included.
Unbelievably weird. :eek:It's worse even than that. I gather bugs are at the lower end of the evolutionary range covered by this appalling genre.
I want to ask my husband if he knows about things like this but I think it will take too long to explain how I now know about it, and he might worry about what I get up to on the internet.0 -

Here's the thing about stuff, there's no guilt if it's not done, because it'll still be there to be done tomorrow. Some days you just have to have off.
This is DH and I this morning
 And
After another bad night and then in the 'quiet period' in the the water company appeared and started just letting themselves in ( big no no....it sounded like the gates of hell had opened inside my house when the dogs heard them and then water company man was scared and sort of yelping in fear while we were still trying to get down stairs to him.
Lots of the stuff we need to do is time sensitive. The tiler comes on Friday, so really DH needs to paint the ceiling this weekend, (I can do walls fine alone, ceiling my back probably isn't up to). Then weeds.....which don't mind the hot and dry, are persisting and our plants need to be rescued from them. ( do some of this every weekend because it always feels like an emergency!)
And the chicken house.
Half of Next weekend is written off with village event.
This morning I have roascea face again.
Lydia, the season lasts three weeks. Dog dog is not yet in ( they come in together ish, like women ) so maximum six weeks. Not as bad as with difficult babies.0 -
How do you all know about this weird stuff?

I used to know some one who liked nice shoes or feet or feet in nice shoes. He mainly wanted photos, from sort of mid calf down. I wouldn't have known unless I knew ...if that makes sense..I mean there was no give away that he was a 'foot man'. You may well know one.0
