In the process of interviewing for jobs here again. Have interviewed 4/9 people so far- all were awful and unappointable and these were the best applicants out of a total of over 100. It's so depressing that we can't find people who are intelligent enough to read our website and think up a good answer to the question "why do you want this job".

I don't suppose you can share any of the daft things they said...?
My skillz would perfectly align to that .... although, obviously, you'd want bits of paper I don't have... but if I did have the bits of paper that's what I'd excel at..... but I'd not get picked because I don't know the answer to irrelevant questions :)

OK, Pastures, here you go. Memorise this, and next time you're at a job interview and get asked why you want the job, say this:

"Because I want a job that's a good match to my skills, and I am very good at ....[insert skills you have that the job needs]."

I read that as Narnia the first time. I was going to tell you, you don't need to fly there, just need to go through the wardrobe. Much more MSE ;) (and you might get some free turkish delight)

Don't eat the free turkish delight!
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

It's the same plasterer who did my beautiful soft curves in the cheese room last year
.... a hot bed of naughtiness in the country!

Let me explain. I was vaguely interested in the Financial Ombudsman Service, as I keep having to represent clients in front of them, and I thought "I could do a better job than their adjudicators".

Heck! I thought that I could sort their whole operation out nicely.

BUT I CBA to go on the two-hour journey to their offices for the pretty basic salary they are offering for basic adjudicators. This means that, if they are offering internal promotion for higher-paid jobs, they must have a pretty ropey pool of people to choose from, and they are not offering higher-paid roles outside the organisation.

Uggh! That sounds arrogant. Did I write that load of tosh? I can only plead that it was the effect of the last of the left-over Pimms.

There are certainly problems with FOS, but way beyond my ability to sort them out.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Combined with fall and heat ;)..... It's all forgivable. Most of us can see some easily resolvable issues with big organisations we interact with. It's understandable they make us frustrated IMO.

Have a glass of something cool :)

Back from judgment in my case - won on one issue, lost on 2, going to go to the Court of Appeal on one of those.

I knew that from last Friday, but it was embargoed until 10.30am today.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

Well if they said that we'd know they has mistaken us for a US law firm!

Pfft. It's looking more and more like we need to be a m!nage a trois or even pas mal de fetards plus to keep in the manner I would like to be accustomed.

(Wonders if furren typing will get autocorrected)
