I was about to say you couldn't both have gone courier but I guess he went on an ID90 anyway. However waiting around in the Concorde lounge for the courier stuff to clear can't have been that romantic...
We went on separate flights and he was at the other end waiting for me. It was a great deal flying courier. I was let through first and didn't have anything to carry as you still got to 'courier' without a package to carry, so was allowed through before Mick Jagger...
Best bit of all was flying backwards through sunset. I wish my husband had seen that too, but he was on the earlier flight (BA001, I was on 003).
ETA: the Plaza was a deal through the company I worked for, which had an account there at the time so I got 50% off their rates too and an upgrade. All very MSE for something that was a long time before MSE.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Only time I flew courier was to Narita, I had to carry a small bundle of papers but then I had wait in arrivals while they matched up the hold items delivered on the baggage belt with what was on my manifest so I was there long after the passengers had left. Luckily the Japanese girl who was waiting for me stayed until I came outI think....0 -
Never seen the need to have my toe nails gelled, they grow so slowly and varnish seems to stay on.
Don't you feel obliged to chit chat with your beautician?
Mine talks away and would be insulted if I typed away while she was working.
Never seen a podiatrist, I thought they were only for problems.
.
Whilst my feet were in ethe heated boots (really) to saock the gel polish off I had a cup of herbal tea, some magazines and came on here. When she returned I put the nagazines and phone down. Although mine is happy to be quiet rather than chat I would not use teh phone or browse teh web whilst with someone else.
Podiatrists check feet for problems too - sensitivity tests, cut toe nails, deal with hard skin. I have to have checks due to diabetes but am happy to have beautician do as nuch as possible..then it feels like pampering and doesn't feel like healthcare.0 -

Then you'd imagine that they'd look for information on that field in general, plus checking you out on LinkedIn, seeing if any of you had appeared in the press/journals etc. Pfft... This is depressing.0

I don't think that's true, that they have nothing else to do, but 60 hours work is a week and a half (or less) of a job.
I remember DH doing that monster round of applications for training contract and it was a nightmare, more stressful than finals or anything else, because it IS a lot of research for each application and employer.0 -

I love planes I really miss them.:D0 -

Likewise. And I've also quickly knocked out an application as I didn't think there was any chance of getting the job, turned up for the interview semi-prepared, somehow managed to wing it and get offered the job.
And had a surprisingly pleasant mid year review
I rate job applications/ interviews about as highly as exams. I think they show people who perform well under specific circumstances. It takes skilled examiners/ interviewers to extrapolate that to 'real life'.
I guess the alternative is internships/ 'apprentice'ships though so at least an unsuccessful application + interview is only a couple of days of unpaid work!0
