It's a lovely language. I love their word for now. It's the time you can hold in your hand. Main-tenant. Pure poetry. :)

IIRC, the French phrase for pedant translates as midge sh@gger.

    So....

Can anyone answer the sex question?

    Is sex ok?

Sex with a condom safer, in the weirdest interpretation? :)

The radioactivity levels in some treaments may be higher that that used in some tests like lir's. Our childminder had to bring in assistants when she had treatment. She couldn't touch anyone for about two days and stayed several feet away from everybody else.

Yes, this. The levels are totally different.

Radiotherapy as a treatment has to be a really high dose because the whole point of it is to kill off the cancer cells. The radiation will also kill off random other cells within reach - yours or anybody else's that it gets to. So you have to be really careful.

Radioactive tracers used for scans and images aren't trying to kill anything. They use the minimum dose that will show up on a gamma camera, which is tiny. The risk to you is only minimally more than background, and the risk to people you come into contact with is even smaller. The only people at significant risk from this kind of procedure are the people who do it all day every day at work, because the dose is cumulative - hence all the screens and lead aprons and that sort of thing. It's rather like X-rays.

You really don't need to worry. Sex will be fine. The risk to you will be no different whether you do it or not, and the risk to fir will be insignificant compared with other things that he does without thinking twice about the radiation dose - like long haul flights, for example - and I shouldn't imagine a condom would make any difference to any of it. Any gamma rays that you are emitting would go straight through a condom anyway, and it's unlikely that anything you do would give large volumes of your bile a chance to get inside fir and stay there for weeks, which is what would be necessary to give him a dose anywhere near as big as yours (which isn't big anyway).
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

OH and Isaac cycled 20 miles today, in this heat. I don't know whether to be impressed, or think they're both insane. Or both.

Isaac at least went to bed early, and fell asleep as soon as he was horizontal!

When do NP's children break up from school? Isaac's term finishes at noon on Friday, and he's off until about 11th September.

I don't think there's anywhere else on the web with as diverse a range of subject matter as this thread. :)
