I stayed in all day; no point going out, nowhere to go that didn't involve "making up somewhere to go, then wondering what to do once I got there, then coming home again soonish as I'd want a drink, something to eat or the loo". Billy no mates .... sitting without two halfpennies to rub together on a beach .... not 'fun'. So I didn't even think about doing it.

You used to do so much exploring of the beaches in Cornwall - perhaps they are just inherently more interesting than the ones near you now?
    I think....

I liked V for Vendetta! Very topical with all the Guy Fawkes masks.
One of the must-see films of its decade IMHO.;)

It was a bit more violent than I'd normally watch, but it was more like watching a graphic novel. I did enjoy it though and found it an interesting premise and the cinematography was great. And I finally understand why people are wearing Guy Fawkes masks in Cairo. I have long thought that very strange:o.

I need to watch V for Vendetta again I think, as I wasn't too enamoured with it the first time I watched it.

Just about to watch In the Loop!

I second this. It is a great shame if this is losing you, your love of the beach and sea.

Pastures if this town is not interesting you or improving your situation do you need any help to find other possibilities? If so what could we do (apart from a large interest free loan/dumping George Clooney in a box on your doorstep/sending round a kebab :))?

Sometimes a film or book seeps into real life and we don't remember it started as a work of fiction. I was talking about dystopias earlier but I'm struck more and more how much "1984" keeps re-emerging in entertainment and real life.

People who haven't read it have really missed something. Whether it's speech patterns like newspeak- politburo, antigen, Soweto, haliborange :D, or universal surveillance, thoughtcrime, censorship, it's an eerily prophetic book.

While we're mentioning humour I'd recommend this for a bit of light reading.

They are, but it's about income; when I was there the money was trickling in, now I'm driven by a 24/7 blind panic that I have to keep tweaking my site/s to try to kick start everything. Leisure is what one does when the roof's over your head and you're further up that Maslow pyramid. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maslow%27s_hierarchy_of_needs I'm bumbling along in the red/yellow bit. :)

If I had £1k coming in without fear, I'd be able to know I could go out and look at stuff.... take some time out.... but as it is all I can see is every penny spent when I step out of the door. £3 yesterday.... always feel I'm on the brink of a break through....

But .... Cornwall IS nicer to look at/enjoy.

It's just a confidence thing..... I'll get over it.
