Gok wan covers this. You just buy a plain one and adapt. So a plain white one (which I believe men can buy) and then you make a crown and buy a silver fox tail stole or some fake fur. Jobs a good'un.0 -
I went into Primark, probably twice in optimism. I'd heard of this mythical "cheap shop" when I was iving in the 4rse end of the country, so once I had access to one I went in.
What I found was another shop with nothing for me. Their cheap leggings would be OK for home lounging, but beyond that stuff was either [a] too skimpy/thin and intended for people up to 30, or, odd size/shapes - as I am a petite, it's virtually impossible to find any (cheap) clothes that fit.
I also found 99% of it a shocking 'design'. SRSLY .... hideous cuts and patterns, nasty materials and dismal colours.0 -

After living there for 4 or 5 years, I can confirm that Uxbridge is most certainly a dump! And I probably ended up seeing more if it than most (Census work and electoral register canvassing).
There aren't many places in London that looked futuristic. I lived near a housing estate where they filmed "Fahrenheit 451". Another dystopian future. I much prefer thin jersey for t shirts. I hate the super thick stuff that I am guessing is 'better'. It's like going out in a cotton sack. The thin stuff feels better and though it doesn't look better alone it layers well, two thin layers (cami under a t or two vests) often look better than one thick one)
I'd love to find more stylish casual jersey tops. Not silly decorative buttons, but proper cutting and design to flatter. Something American fashion designers seen to do better I think. I see loads of such tops in movies but rarely in real life.
Maybe the kind of shops I never window shop in any more have them....I would never have looked at 'practical' things when I was younger.0 -

Unless you buy proper designer, I think it's impossible to tell sweat shop or not.
But fc probably could comment on conditions. I don't buy much in Primark but can see why it appeals. It's the same as everyone saying they wouldn't dare set foot in mcdonalds. but actually, they source a large number of food products in the uk.
I'm an equal opportunity consumerist. I buy from mcdonalds, but mostly shop at waitrose and butchers. I buy from primark but also people tree and such like. I've even stepped into asda this week
:rotfl:
this isn't a pop at you anyways, just running thoughts for this moment.
Bunting up and it's clouded over. Panic0 -
Street party here today and most years it is raining and too cold...so this year it is too hot.
Is having an annual street party a posh alert?I think....0 -
The cake is warmish. About four feet shallower than last time, so that helps. Also a little less stinky. Less orange, more brown.
.
Horrid swimming over a dead brance and having to repeat the mantra ' its a branch not dead cow'. Kiwi did NOT want to swim.
After we got out we put our clothes on, no towels, and walked back, and were already dry. It's proper summer.0
