We match High Street cheapies with posher bits. Can work if the cheapies are classic or unusual. Have occasionally hidden cheapie stuff til the store stops selling to prevent identification.

Same with clothes - primark T-shirts under more expensive dresses/ jackets.

I have no aversion to getting cheapies if we like them. :). I'm also still trying to fidnd kitchen lighting I like.

I love the 24k one GDb also likes:D and everything else but one (some lighting artist who does 'lighting installations'm in your home is just not happy making yet, so I have a bulb.

One day something will be happy making and we'll get it. If we found an interim thing I could be content with I'd be relieved I think. Bulb is boring now.

    Edit...

Oh....found this ...need three for over the kitchen bench. I quite like these I think. Not love but like. Not sure what I'd put over the table though.

These would be better for size but not sure about the dark glass. Funny really , because the ones I really love and cannot afford are dark glass! Wonder if three of those would be light enough for a kitchen? Still leaves over the table issues. I still want the seed light :(

Got given some extra pots today!
Some of my chilli's appear to be struggling a bit. Might have more than 6 casualties.
Got a flower on 1 cucumber plant!
However it's on one that I gave away...
Gonna have a weekend of planting lettuce, planting my cucumbers out, and repotting tomatoes.

I want to plant my cabbage plants this weekend.

One of teh two courgettes has been eaten.

There is only a limted amount of evudence of two out of three peppers.

The runner bean wigwams have been munched so looking moth eaten and poor.

    Not a lettuce in sight.

    Tomato plants looking OK.

Vitamin tablets don't really do anything useful except make you poorer. You get more bang for your buck buying a good selection of fruit and veg.

Got bunting at the ready, about to make sausage rolls and the sunshine is here as ordered. Going to be a lovely day tomorrow! (although ruddy rented garden chairs haven't arrived.....)
(ps, if any NP are nearby, they are welcome to come along but it's a bit of a trek for most of you.)

I know but you can't get vit D in fruit. I think standing in the sun for three days may have helped though although the factor 50 may have scuppered things.

Not sure if lir does facebook, but there is a facebook group called "different photos" which is showing today some beautiful wood floors.

My pansies are being eaten - even though I put slug pellets down. :(

Whole plants have disappeared including the root. Could it be crows/ wood pidgeons/ squirrels?

Ask people to bring their own chairs :)

I can't BELIEVE you rented chairs..... blimey - that's mega posh. I thought people only rented chairs for posh weddings.

I've got my own chair I could bring for a sausage roll... but I am too far away.

    Have a good day

    I don't have 20 chairs in my house :o

I now have 20 chairs for the 6 hours there are going to be that many people here. :D

Birds are really going for any plants this year. Everything I planted out has been munched by pigeons and anything else swooping by :(

Back to cooking. We have enough sausage rolls now apparently!
