I cannot actually tell what this looks like. Is it my eyes or a bad picture please?

And do these look like testicles on a stick?

1] I can tell what the light looks like, but it is poorly shot. For the record: it's hideous and cheap looking.

Hideous.... and for £561 I'd have expected somebody to take a bit more time with a good description.

It's sandblasted glass....... and looks tacky.

    :)

What you need is some medieval sconces :)

Either that or I was a bit too sweaty and bleary eyed that night.

Did you see us and decide to run away?

Nonsense - you are gorgeous. But personally, I don't resort to iffy emails if I think someone looks lovely!

Vitamin tablets don't really do anything useful except make you poorer. You get more bang for your buck buying a good selection of fruit and veg.

They make you feel smug and healthier, though?

Folic acid is supposed to be A Good Thing when you are pregnant, I think, to reduce the chances of spina bifida et al.

I also am worried about the ones who go away for the 1st time and end up getting stranded in Leicester Sq at 3am...so we have to get up and go pick them up.

When I was about 9 or 10, a couple of late teenage sons belonging to my grandparents' friends came to stay with us for a week or so to enjoy London; they were Dutch.

The parents lived next to my grandparents for a few years while father was working in London, then they went home to Holland.

Teenage sons went out on the town, and lost the house key they'd been given. So they arrived home, somewhat the worse for wear, at 2.30am. They considerately decided not to ring the door bell and wake the whole house, and with the inspiration that alcohol can give, decided that one would stand on the other's shoulders, shin up the front of the house, push up the sash windown in the sitting room on the first floor, and nip down to let other one in.

My parents' bedroom was next to the sitting room, and my mother woke up to hear the definite sounds of someone breaking in through the window in the sitting room. Fairly obviously, she woke my Dad up sharpish, and Dad armed himself with a cricket bat from his cricket kit in the wardrobe, and sallied forth to protect his home, wife, au pair, and 4 young children.

Fortunately for all concerned, the intruder was identified before Dad cracked him over the head with the cricket bat. I think it was some time before everyone calmed down enough to go to bed, and Dad didn't feel at his best in court the next day!

I thought folic acid was added to bread and cereals now, just in case people don't get around to buying folic acid until too late.

I need either super modern, sympathetic to Georgian or totally ott. Would take medieval or baroque.

I can only find ones I like on American websites today, and nothing I love so have given up.

I need too, either side of the mirror.

Fittings in there are chrome and pewter, so need a white metal.( I have learned to compromise a little, would prefer pewter) and we are getting the limestone splits face tiles. The whole room will be white and modern about from some wall panelling and the sash window. It's a sort of hard cold, clean look and the lights and the curtain (white curtain but potentially turquose curtain pole, might go dark wood) are the only potential 'relief' from that.

Against the split face style I like the idea of crystal, especially something sort of baguette or emerald cut looking if we go modern footballers wives. Otherwise I like the idea of something, as you say, very simple, classic, flamey......not fake, unless its outrageously so.

Everything is so damn middle of the road.

I have one old unwired wall sconce that would have been fine had I been able to find another to match. Instead I might put that near the loo with a candle in it.

    Is it?

I don't really eat bread or cereals, so it wouldn't do me much good anyway.

They look like they could be bought in Argos for less than £20, I have no problem with that, but why pay more if you like the Argos look?

I think the second one looks like a tulip.
