Just finished my 6,000 word skeleton argument for my High Court case - more obese than skeletal, I fear, but not bad since I started at 5am (-:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Spent the weekend moving house, bit stressful. Especially since I don't really want to leave. But I know it's for the best, and I'm starting to feel better about it now; seeing at as a fresh start and a new opportunity. People keep saying to me it's only for a year, which is true, but I still feel like it's a year of my life...
Anyway I know I'm being an ungrateful sod, so I'll stop whinging.
Bought a DAB digital radio for the car, so that's cheered me up a bit. Second hand off ebay but it's as good as new so that's saved me over a hundred, and the stereo the car came with has seen better days so it's not a just an extravagance! Keeping the old stereo to put back in the car for when I part ex it in in a few years so hopefully should get a lot of use out of the new one.

Our weekend activity involved getting the garden in to full summer mode = putting up cantilever umbrella, removing winter cover from swing and patio furniture and putting up 'swimming pool' - the latter got filled from the hot tap so the kids had a great afternoon even if in 3 hours it only got to about 8 inches deep (out of about 2'6 when full and 10 feet across). Pool was an ebay buy and I have also ebay purchased a salt filter system to keep the water clean. Next purchase would be a heat pump water heater but at £500+ this is a whole new order of magnitude over the 30 quid I have spent on items so far. IN theory it saves £10 per day on heating costs so pays for itself in one summer but that assumes you would spend money on heating in the first place - using the hot tap to heat is also much cheaper except that you have to then throw away warm water when you top it up.
A quick question for Lydia - what is the (specific) heat capacity of water and how many joules in 1kwh? (Or better still how many kwh does it take to warm 5300 litres by 1 degree?)There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
Just found out we aren't starting until Wednesday, after all.
Which is stressful - I hate being all psyched up and then delayed....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

. Tbh, I'm just quite curious. Not looking forward to a Day on the loo, I'm mobile now, but if my back or knew go its not great and I'll just have to stay there with a book
(Edit. The way I see it this is something almost every body has to do at some point, I'm just ahead of the age curve.....)

Hehehehe.
I know it's tomorrow.
All the threads on the Internet make the prep sound truly terrible. It sounds like a dose of food poisoning. Today has been surprisingly 'pleasant' by comparison. I've had worse times at some people's homes :rotfl:
Anyway, if this is the worst bit I'm beginning to think I might actively enjoy tomorrow.0 -

Nah just over the hills to a rival large city. Well, it's, about half an hour out of there.
Just had a wonder round the local town, getting hair cut as I've got an interview for an internship tomorrow. At least I think it's an interview. To say they recruit for a living they don't seem to know what they're doing, but I digress. It's a pretty depressing town, but that's a good thing really, as it will give me a kick up the !!!! every day to sort my life out.
Got the radio sorted, bit of a bodge with regard to the aerial but it works no problem, good quality reception, pretty chuffed with it.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

DAB doesn't work in a lot of Cornwall. I've never seen/heard a DAB radio anywhere.0
