Almost over now I think.
Not been too bad anyway. The consultant advised fasting before hand, and it seems to have been effective. I did even consider calling the pharmacist ant the posh not square hospital and asking if I needed to take all the stuff as the result had been achieved but then decided there was no need NOT to take it.
I've just taken my normal evening mess a little early because its that which I think might cause any small discomfort as they both have slightly diuretic impact and so I'll need to keep chugging away to keep hydrated overnight. But it's all thoroughly doable and comfortable. I'm not complaining at all.0 -

Anyway, if this is the worst bit I'm beginning to think I might actively enjoy tomorrow.
Think of it like a safari :rotfl: And say yes to the sedatives
Those of a sensitive nature might want to not read the next bit:o
I think I found procedure< prep< study
First time I did the study I was plugged into a machine via a catheter 'tail' (installed during the procedure). Which meant I couldn't move more than about 5 metres away from the machine for 48 hours. During the 24 hours of measurements, I had to record every time I moved (coughed, sat up, lay down, got up, changed position, sneezed...). There were much more undignified experiences, but I won't go into those in case anyone is eating
The second time, they wanted a couple of people who had already been through the study to try out a wireless measuring system. That was MUCH better!
More seriously, hope it all goes well. Mine was 'for fun' rather than medical need which obviously changes things a bit (although I did have the worry that I was going to bump into staff again. Which I did - over dinner a few months later. Don't think they recognised me from the front though), so I hope they manage to answer their questions and that all is ok.

Sedatives is exactly why I am glad a girlfriend is taking me, As we all l know I like to talk and am prone to tmi. Better a girlfriend than my parents IMO.
I don't think I have much to fear. I think the theory is that the neurological issue is spreading and those things I thought might have been food allergies a while back are symptoms of my gut just ceasing to work (in in effect creating IBS.....which is not dissimilar to what happens in other bits of me neurologically...) The good news with that is that bread etc is all back on the menu and the bad news is that I would be advised to cut down on raw fruit and veg and some high fibre foods, I've never heard of being told to cut down on raw fruit and veg and eat less
Fibre foods so this feels wrong, and I cannot think what I'd eat lots of the time. But 'less ' it better than none. So, if its just that then I think we see it as same old, same old and so not terribly bad news. I don't think they know that from tomorrow, just know that it's not something worse.0 -

You're brave, LIR. Well done.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
You're brave, LIR. Well done.
It's not brave if you don't have any choice. If I had any choice I'd give it all to someone else:rotfl: but I cannot really ask them to remove the broken bits.
atm that would be me left with a mouth and a bit the swear filter would surely remove Rofl. My gut works better than daisy 's does any way.
Edit...fwiw, I think, from my very limited reading, that ibs is all considered to have a neurological aspect by some schools of thought now. That the gut just 'stops' for bit in IBS.0 -
Glastonbury was surprisingly enjoyable mostly because OH face planted in the mud on Thursday night which I found hilarious. Even the toilets weren't that bad. Most of the time.0

Bet you only went for Brucie. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Two of my friends tried to go to see him but couldn't get in the tent as it was utterly overcrowded!0
