Pink whistley brought me a mole for my supper. Moles are so cute, I hate them catching moles.

Cooking it with lime, or watermelon?

We had falafel tonight, which I made from a mixture of chickpeas and flava beans. With humus, gherkins, pitta bread, chopped peppers and mixed salad.

    I don't know if that's 3 or 5 of the 5-a-day; I suspect 3, because chickpeas and flava beans probably don't count.

Sorry, one other thing I should say is that while it would be good if they all did the same you can benefit from the differences. For example, some local authorities, such as Luton, are known for buying a good proportion of best sellers. This means that if you are looking for a particular book, the waiting list there may be shorter, but if you are looking for something more obscure then you're better off going to a different authority.

There's one library authority, in the North of England, that I'd love a library card for. Its elibrary is phenomenal and has things on that I'd love to be able to access from the comfort of my own home.

Meanwhile, I'm just very glad I don't work for this authority:

They are allegedly looking to cut from 11 libraries to one:eek:.

So can one join these different libraries if one lives 'out of county'? Do you have to physically visit to sign up in the first place?
    I think....

You can certainly join more than one library authority, but the membership conditions and whether you need to visit to join will depend on the authority. For example, for some people joining the library near their work will offer far greater accessibility than the one where they live.

They have different concessions too. Some don't charge fines for children's books, some do; some don't charge to rent DVDs, some do. It all differs. Having said that, most LAs are looking for ways to reduce costs and raise revenues, so I don't know that I'd be relying on free DVD rental for much longer.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I've got a new car...not a new new car but a new to me one.

The old Astra had the thrust bearing go last week and it just wasn't worth getting it fixed, especially as there were other problems mithering and a couple of leaks appearing. Luckily, the bank of mum and dad have come to the rescue again (I do pay it back in full, weekly and without fail) and I now have a car which has remote central locking and air conditioning!

She is only 3 years younger than my old car (so 16 years old) but the step up in luxury is beyond comprehension. Full electric windows, rain sensors, CD multichanger, electric mirrors and enough va va voom to get up to 70 on the bypass in a blink of an eye. She has also been very well looked after, with a full service history.

I took delivery of her today, much to my parents relief...I had nicked their car for the last week!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Another question for NP (possibly especially Herts NP), how does one go about finding a reliable tax advisor (specialising in domestic property)?

Edit - I did like 'rule 12 above, it takes a bit of thought but it does make sense except in our supermarket that would mean eating TVs, socks, children's toys and gluten free and drinking mixers.

Is East Herts (specifically Stortford) one of them? I'm only a member for my DD's, and feel that I need to stop buying stuff for my iPad, and actually pick up a proper book!

    Nice!

Just out of pure interest, what'cha got? I'm in a nosey mood :D

I had a 'T' reg Passat estate that you could have had for £1 (what I paid for it) if you'd told me last week. 3m Tax, 10m MoT, even heated seats. It bailed one of my lot out of bother for 2 months.

It's gone now (offered £500 for it, and duly accepted, as I put 'for sale' in the screen, but didn't specify how much)

    Hahahahaha!

Now our accounts have to be audited, I'm funny about what my accountant gets upto. I think it's more of a case of everything we've ever done being completely legal, but I'm less aggressive than I once was with regard to tax planning.

I dont know if I mentioned last week (I've been sorting legal paperwork last week/weekend for it), we've had our child this year picked for us. I'm quite excited to be spending bits and pieces of the next 6 months in St Petersburg, rather than Moscow, although that was why I wanted Varya to go through 2 years ago, when she contracted a throat infection on the night. It's here, if anyone's interested.

I'd better go to bed shortly, as I'm starting at 10am (although lovingly finishing at 2)

    Damn...I like Passat's too!

It's a Peugeot 406 GLX DT Estate. 12 months MOT, 6 months Tax and loads and loads of (working) extras.

You should run to 300k with no serious problems; the only problem we had with our 2.0 HDi one was the Turbo, and this wasn't an issue on the 1.9.

You've made a good choice there Sue :D

    I've been Money Tipped!
I washed my most comfortable bra on the hand wash programme last night in the machine to save time. Stupidly I put it in with a black silk scarve and its now the colour of sludge. Cannot decide whether to wear it a gross colour or wear a less comfortable bra. I painted my toenails carefully, although IME they always make you take nail varnish off, maybe they won't for this. :).

Slept really well, and am slightly freaked out that my gp suggested I ask them to check protein levels. This has not been requested buy any one apart from go and at last minute yesterday, so not sure whether they will listen or not, Gp felt it was better coming as a request from me there than as a phone call from her.
