Is that fasting for 2 days per wk one?

I have to say that I am a big non believer in diets of all types.

My top tip would be no sugar at all...ever...not in anything.

No processed anything esp items with things in that sound like something from your lab (Glutamate, e numbers etc etc.
Don't bother with 'health' cereals/products, just get some some smart price oats, seeds from h+b and mix with a few nuts.

No corn starch/syrup/modified corn starch etc and no hydrogenated fats.

I eat a lot of fat but it's the good quality stuff like organic pork crackling or olive oli, avocados. I do eat a lot of dairy as well but try to avoid the non organic supermarket stuff whenever possible...

only get properly proven bread so don't eat modern bread as has double the yeast in it.
then move as much as you can ...like walk wherever possib;le, use stairs, swim if you have time, run a bit, dance class for fun.

....and I know PN is going to say it costs more but it's actually cheaper as you can hardly buy anything at all from a normal supermarket ....and go raw for 50% of your intake.

Yup - been doing the 5:2 diet since the beginning of the year. Have lost about a stone, but haven't been great at being strict on the fast days in the past month or so, and have been eating a lot at weekends as its a diversion tactic/ comfort from something else. 5:2 definitely works out cheaper than normal eating (and definitely cheaper than buying special diet food.

Fast days, I pretty much eat just egg, veg (veg and/ or pulse curry or stir fry) and yogurt. I do generally try to avoid too many processed foods, but I think the 'E' numbers thing is a bit misldeading - plenty of them are 'natural' (just on an approved list). You could write an apple as a list of chemicals from a lab :) (and an organic one at that).
If I buy things like oats, then I definitely buy the 'value' ones (or whatever is cheapest), I wouldn't buy e.g. oat so simple as I don't like the taste. I do tend to cook from scratch a lot, I think my problem is generally portion size, and a love of savoury things like crisps and cheese.

I do aerobics/ circuits/ abs classes at work if they don't clash with meetings, and have been swimming quite a bit at weekends as they keep going cheap day passes at a nearby gym on groupon. There will be more time for things like that in a few months, when I can't feel guilty for not sitting around all weekend staring blankly at a computer screen :) I'm planning on finding a walking group to get out and about.

Suffolk? Must be plenty of twee ye olde englishe places round that way.

It's a long way from south west London to Suffolk! I've spent £200k doing up my house so I can insult my neighbours in DM articles so I can't afford the travel...

I was thinking perhaps Cambridge way as a bit easier to get to but I don't know the area at all. I remember going to McDonald's in Cambridge but that's about it.

Strange day indeed. Things are getting a little 'tense' at work, everyone seems to have a very stretching workload, and perhaps is in need of summer hols. I'm just happy to still be there :)

My work is oddly tense. My old department is irritated with my new department and vice versa. They are both trying to get me to perform some kind of espionage against the other. I think they all need to go on holiday too!

They can't be that powerful and amazing if they've had dealings with Ed Balls!

Radio 4 had a short piece in which they interviewed some people who had travelled to Watford to protest about the bilderberg group. They were proper loons. One chap was convinced that the bilderberg group meet to plan future wars so they can make money out of them.

I'd quite like to see the House of Lords replaced by a group of bilderberg protestors, it would be better value as at least it would be funny.
