Things I have learned today.....
- If your company issued laptop has built in videocamera for skype, etc, then put a piece of black tape over the camera if you're a home based worker and feel clothes are optional at times.
(no, not me, but a former colleague apparently hit the skype button by mistake to his boss today while setting up the laptop for a later call... :rotfl:)“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

We need the full details of what he was wearing/not.0 -

I suspect a lot of them 'live' there during the building works so it is a ppr and thus capital gains tax free...
I want to borrow using a owner occupier mortgage and the fact I am salary sacrificing 25% of my income for tax/benefits purposes is coming back to bite me on my bottom for income multiples purposes so I may have to use a BTL mortgage instead. However despite all my input it looks like I am going to be pipped to the post on it because my financial partner has discovered how much property costs in Blackheath where he is hoping to buy.
Funnily I rang 'my' architect to get a rough build cost and he said it was hard for him to say because he was working with the other bidder for the property....
All the rest.... too long to bother getting into any of those discussions.0 -

Nothing at all.
Apparently he was setting up the laptop in the morning, prior to jumping in the shower to get ready for a video call, and completely stuffed it up.
I can believe it too... this poor chap is technologically illiterate, or was when I worked with him.
Needless to say the story has now gone a bit viral....:D“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Just say no to snorting gel
I see your Macputer is bigging itself up again
I would love to ask DooozerGal a 'how much does it cost to build a house?' question fairly urgently - are you in touch with her?
I am in touch with doozer boy, I might be seeing doozer girl next week though.....he mentioned she might come down :j. I can tell her you want her.
I would say in the man time a copy of house building and renovation might be a good place to start. There is some sort of per square metre price guide for new builds. I haven't bought one of these for a coupe of years or so now.0 -
today my day has been brought to you by maximum doses of ibuprofen and paracetamol
I am solely running on that sinus spray. It's brilliant stuff, but why it has to smell of cat litter I don't know.
I forgot my pills yesterday and so far apt okay again.....have remembered now though. Feel ok, considering the cold. Feel WArM from the sun, and doing little dances of joy and thanks to sol, Ra, Titan and apollo. I actually feel not cold. (Apart from my digits and ear lobes:o)0 -

I've done worse with computer fails.
Former colleague was male, and presumably seated. Unless he was multitasking it can only have been very mildly embarrassing.0
