When onevcannot sleep there is time to wonder why ou programmes and programmes for school no longer get shown overnight on bbc. I mean, surely that's public service.

But your current home must have increased in value since you added bi-folding doors and other stuff. Can't you raise more on that?

Hmm. Dh has been sent details of a super swish work thing that he thinks he has been wrongly put on the invite list for. Others are mainly partners, would be partners and vipclients.

It's a really good location.....but he is sure its been sent in error. Wish I had my passport sorted out if it hasn't been! It's so soon after the brain drain never would be a safer time for me to fly.....

Except that my income is too low as it is all going in to my pension to avoid tax and maximise benefits...

Beautiful attractive highly paid wife, jet set lifestyle, all expenses paid 5 bed pad in the heart of the Hague, tax free income...why on earth would I want that?

There is a phrase that I really, really hate, but is applicable here. It goes something like 'you pays your money you makes your choices'.

As for the lifestyle difference you have YOU beautiful wife, a loving family and a home you and your wife have made as it is together. Yesterday I was a bit grub,y that I hadn't asked dh to put the hammock back up for me at the weekend, then realised I wouldn't have had a wolf for a pillow, a kiwi for a cushion and a dog dog for a bolster on the hammock. It's not even a case of 'if life throws you lemons' because you don't have lemons...you have worked to create a nice life.

Don't worry I was being a bit tongue ni cheek, I don't aspire to his life at all, sure it would be nice to have the pounds in the bank but I wouldn't have wanted to have done what he has done to get them. I suspect on an hourly rate basis I am probably not that much worse off....(his wife doesn't do it for me either)

Re brothers wives, really oddly dh's bil's girlfriend looks like a cross between his sister and me. More like his sister though. Creeps me out.
