Baby spinach salad with toasted pine kernels, crispy hot lardons and a squeeze of lemon juice and olive oil. :D

Ndg, happy birthday. Are you getting younger? We seem to be getting closer in age :). Maybe I am just ageing faster. Or have got my birthdate wrong again.

Not too sure if there is any difference zag.
That was my feeling about Christmas anyway. It's grown into a major institution. Less sure that Hogmanay or New Year has caught on in such a big way in England but I'm never there to see it.

I was born not far from this town, (namechecked in the West Wing) whose natives were predictably known as Crojans. No wooden horses ther though.

By the way, we still have a lot of snow still on the ground.

Starting to wonder if I'll get to do any planting this year!

Wow, that's impressive. Yesterday afternoon was quite warm here I am told. Today was cold again, but perhaps not as bad as it has been. The sun came out on its way down. Honestly, I had almost forgotten what spring sun could look like.

As it has sunk dh and I have been loving watching the light change. Between us and the big hill we can almost see the very air, a sort of a barely there hazy mauve ness, while the sky is almost electric in its blueness as it has deepened. It's been a very beautiful evening indeed.

I was born in Hemel Hempstead. Was it Morcambe and Wise who said, "If people from Poland have Polaroids, do people from Hemel Hempstead have...."? I can say the answer is no..
