WE have a switch and 2 wireless hubs running different wifi networks, it all works except for some reason the wireless printer does not support printing from one wifi netweork to the other, previously one of the PCs was a print server and it worked fine from anywhere.
First mistake I made was forgetting to connect the laptop to the hub.

Then, it seemed that sharing the folder on the laptop didn't mean the PC could see it.... and trying to connect to the PC from the laptop wasn't happy.

Not sure what I did in the end, but from one or the other I found another way of getting to the shared folder. It's not something I need to do often - and if I am doing it 2-3x a week then I'll be easily remembering :)

I've generally held a theory that there is an element of balance in life, a kind of yin & yang, where a person can only have so much good stuff, and there has to be some bad stuff to give balance. In example, when I was having a really bad time with my last employer, stuff outside work (playing golf, and also playing bowls) was going really well. I couldn't put my finger on why (I did kinda wonder whether I welcomed the distraction from immense stress & immersed myself in the hobby activity, but I couldn't put a foot wrong in either).

This year seems different. Work isn't great, though not as bad as previous experiences. Haven't played golf yet this year. Have been playing bowls, and despite not playing badly, I don't appear able to buy a win at the moment. Haven't won a game in 2 seperate leagues for over a month. Can't put my finger on why.

    I'm really confused.

Some people seem to get a run of bad luck and then things turn around.

My sister has the theory that everything happens in 3s. But then after any coincidence ie number 2, she is looking out for something to call the third.

I don't like curry. any curry.

kedgeree is easy and something you could easily make for 1 with left over ingredients.

Bit of rice, 1 hard boiled egg, some peas, mix with some smoked haddock.
Single people don't have left over ingredients.... we cook to eat it all, or cook double to have it twice. Ingredients out of the norm are bought in specially to make something, then they're gone.

I have rice in the cupboard, I can make a boiled egg. I've no peas, except tinned ones (would assume it'd need frozen ones and I've no freezer so I'd have to eat a LOT of peas in 2-3 days) and smoked haddock I have never had/bought so that'd be a special purchase.

All in all.... I have rice and eggs. With rice/eggs I'd make up some instant Asda curry sauce with boiling water and have Egg Curry :)

I think that's where eating out comes in handy. You can order food you haven't tried yet without ending up with tons of unusual food you won't eat.

Well, you don't have leftovers because you cook the way you describe. My dad, OTOH, who also lives alone, always has loads of little pots in his fridge with little bits of leftover this and that. So not everyone's the same. In contrast, I cook for the kids and me, and either we eat it all, or I freeze individual portions, so I almost never create things out of leftovers like my dad does. Sometimes I put leftovers in the fridge with the vague intention of using them up later, but I almost always forget about them and find them in the fridge when it's too late to do anything with them except chuck them. I am not very organised about food, I'm afraid. :o

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I appear to have brought an AA truck back into work

Land Rover have fitted the electronic device that starts OH's car, underneath a drainage pipe at the back of the engine cover, leaving me stranded in the rain, with no wallet, and now some very wet documents.

Our fleet manager has got in into the warehouse, sprayed it with some water repellent, and found a bit of plastic that goes over the said device and clips shut, and guess what? It starts and drives! What an absolutely stupid piece of design!

Thanks to Tony at the AA!

Well there were about 20 pages of Eurovision that I think even someone who reads all posts like me skipped over (sorry Eurovision lovers)

We are sort of sharing roles in the thread, Jelly does live entertainment on all our behalves, LIR does animals etc

Re yin/yang, I'm in the sh*t happens camp but also suspect that our mood frames how we see things rather like the looking for a third bad thing as they come in 3s, if we are already feeling down then we are probably much more likely to see the difficulties that come our way than the opportunities.

Did you go some where nice?
    I think....

My elderly cousins in Spain live a mile up a dirt track in the hills. When it rains, the track gets quite badly washed away. He's 93, and she's 85. Fortunately, she still drives a 4 x 4, so they are not totally isolated, but they are living in splendid isolation in a truly beautiful house that's now not really suitable for them. I can't help feeling they would be better off with something less grand - maybe even with *neighbours*!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I've always said there are elements in life: Income/Work | Love | House

I've always said I've never achieved all three at once.
